What can Arsenal do with Jack Wilshere after his new long-term injury?

You couldn’t make it up. Poor Jack Wilshere was looking forward to a summer of decisions regarding his Arsenal future, with the choice of signing a new contract with the Gunners or putting himself on the market for a move away, with the rumours saying that both Man City and AC Milan were keen on signing him.

But now his dreams are in tatters after he has suffered yet another hairline fracture to his ankle, very similar to the one that he suffered two summers ago. With poor Jack’s record he could sustain an injury getting up out of a car seat, or even opening a jamjar lol, so this is hardly a surprise to Arsenal fans. This is how SkySports confirmed the bad news…

Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken leg sustained against Tottenham on Saturday, according to Sky sources.

Wilshere faces another prolonged absence after scan results revealed the severity of the injury.

It showed up a crack in his left fibula, similar to the injury which kept the Arsenal midfielder out for most of last season.

Wilshere, on a season-long loan at the Vitality Stadium, went down following a collision with Harry Kane after an hour of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat before being jeered by Spurs supporters at White Hart Lane.

Everything was going so well for Jack, with him making 27 appearances for Bournemouth and staying fit until now. He was also the top chance-creator in the side, and his sustained fitness was making him into a top transfer target for many top clubs as he will be entering the final year of his contract with Arsenal.

But now there will be no interest and he will be returning to Arsenal for treatment. His confidence will be shattered yet again, and god knows what will happen with his contract extension talks with the Gunners….

  1. Don’t neglect the fact that Bournemouth knows player management……
    .
This is a Jack we couldn’t manage longer that few weeks…..if there’s anything , we should borrow a Leaf from their book, cuz we really pathetic on the physio front to say the least
    .
Jack was just unfortunate to go into such a nasty clash and it looks like we are gonna have another diaby on our hands and should act quickly
    .
But Wenger is not know to be a fast or class act… He Lets the Noodles burn before adding seasoning!

  2. Wenger will definitely give Jack a new contract and he will be ‘like a new signing’ every single year, just like Diaby

  3. ” off point though”

    Bayern Vs Madrid.

The Bayern players are nothing but bunch of cheaters, they dive easily, they yield at refree when decisions didn’t go their way, the think they are the best in the world. They thought they will get favoured like they got a cheap penalty and many harsh decisions against Arsenal and got Koscielny unjustly sent off. Yet the media didn’t talk about that. Madrid are the better than them and even the media now is supporting Bayern. Why won’t the media question refrees decision to give Bayern a cheap penalty in the second leg against and sending off of Koscielny? even against Madrid, Bayern still got two cheap penalties in both legs, yet no one talk about that. To be honest, the media are selective. Bayern players have gotten the test of their lives yesterday and the’re being exposed. It’s a pity Arsenal players were just afraid of them. Mentality issue is the problem to this current Arsenal team. Madrid have shown that they can cope with pressure. Bayern should not complain because they lost to a better team than them, period. If Arsenal were favoured in the second leg, we wouldn’t have beaten Bayern.

  4. ??He’s not called “Jack Wheelchair” for nothing, you know.
I say send him a Get Well Soon card with his p45 attached to it??

  5. I hear that Ozil spent the day sight seeing in London, Well,If he hasn’t done all that already in the time that he has been here then it sounds as if he is soaking it up before he forks off! ?

In other news, Wenger is definitely staying and is trying to avoid losing Sanchez to a premier league rival by selling him to PSG for around £50 million. The same club may also come in for Ozil.

    1. Page pay 50 for said Luiz
An we sell sanchez for same

Anything less than 60 an were getting robbed
He’s 70 mark plus but age and contract running down

  6. Fell bad for the lad…..lots of talent but he is not build to go with it…AW will offer him a new Contract no question, this is why we cannot afford to pay Sanchez or any other WC players

  7. Shame for Jack and Arsenal. The career that could have been. But please don’t reserve a spot in our squad for him. Let’s find a player less injury prone.

We have too many “key” players who are not available consistently.

If you build your plans on players like Kos, Santi, Wilshire etc, you are going to be talking about what could have been if only these players had been fit all season.

  8. This may sound harsh, but is it worth beginning an online petition asking Jack to retire? For his own benefit and those around him. He’s not doing anyone any favours, including himself. Physiologically/anatomically he just isn’t built to participate in a contact sport. The petition will be nicely framed and won’t be spiteful. However, his number of appearances are terribly low and he’s now been overtaken by fitter and better players like Dele Alli in the England set up. Thoughts?
