What do Arsenal want from Liverpool-Man United match-up?

Manchester United travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool tonight, but what result do the Arsenal fans want to see?

The Merseyside Red are in great form this season, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly getting an exciting tune out of his squad, but with only seven games played, it may be too early to analyse just how strong they are.

The Red of Manchester on the other hand have struggled so far under new manager Jose Mourinho, much like they have under Louis Van Gaal and David Moyes in recent seasons, and may well be deemed less likely to challenge for the Premier League title this year.

This is a rivalry which would usually have you throwing the form book out the window, but United struggled to bring the necessary fire to Manchester City when they visited Old Trafford earlier in the term, when they lost 2-1 to their rivals.

Arsenal moved level on points with City this weekend, and could be joined by Liverpool tonight should they manage to win, and could potentially go into first-place on goal difference should they thump United by three or more goals.

United under Mourinho could well be considered the most likely to be serious challengers for the league title despite their current form and standing, especially given the Portuguese’s winning mentality, and considering his side could well be adjusting to his methods still.

Do we want Liverpool to win and leave United six points behind as we look to win our first league title since the Invincibles? Are the Red Devils too far from finding that league winning form to hurt us? Would the draw be best in order to gain points on both potential rivals?

What result should Arsenal want from today's Liverpool v United match?

  • Draw (78%, 497 Votes)
  • Liverpool win (11%, 72 Votes)
  • Not bothered, neither are title rivals this year (6%, 36 Votes)
  • Man United win (5%, 32 Votes)

  1. I think it will be a draw match but if there should be a winner then Liverpool should win simply because I want to see how Mourinho and Manu fans will react..

Kudos to Liverpool for a great start. They have defeated some big boys this season away from home (Arsenal and Chelsea)Great start. Let’s see if they can maintain such momentum through out the season.

Looking forward to a good match tonight. Glad Arsenal won so I will see the game with ease.

  2. If not a draw, then a slight win margin for Liverpool. I just don’t know how United will cope with Liverpool onslaught.

  3. Honestly would love them both to lose lol! But it’s not possible, a draw would be a more likeable result but wouldn’t be surprise if Liverpool nicks this, if man u loses to see mourinho’s dejected face “priceless”!

  4. im tempted to say LFC win, just because I despise Mourinho so much. But yeah, draw would be most beneficial to us.

    1. As a football purist I would like draw, with 2 sent off and 2 broken legs per side…
Oh and would like Klopp to punch Mourinho out …
      Too much?

  5. I would want both to lose if that’s ever possible. Everyone seems to wanna see Moaningwhore’s priceless face but I’d rather Utd win coz Liverpool does look scary and if they lose we are the only team with proper momentum going forward with 6 straight wins. With our rather kind yet tricky fixtures coming up plus with strong confidence in the dressing room, I think we are gonna fly.

  6. a draw is what we need but I want United to lose to Liverpool and as well lose to Chelsea next week. puts us very clear of them at potentially 9 points gap.
    .
Liverpool n Klopp can still be tamed by Arsenal when need be but for now let them take points from the main rivals (City,Chelsea,United)

  7. Well if Liverpool win they go top so I would rather Liverpool lost to disrupt their rhythm. I don’t see Man U as a threat this season. Liverpool with Mane and co are starting to feel invincible. They need a loss to weaken their self belief much like how Man City needed to loose when they were looking unstoppable. Since then, they’ve only managed a draw against Everton and could have lost that match too. If Liverpool can follow suit it will be better for us in the long run.
