What now for Lucas Perez – Will he leave Arsenal this summer?

Despite the ‘Wenger Out Brigade’ being bigger than ever before as a result of the lacklustre campaign Arsenal are having, it looks as though the resilient Frenchman will sign a new two-year deal at the Emirates. While this will result in a majority of the Gunners stars signing new deals, perhaps with the exception of Sanchez, there is one Arsenal star who is likely to leave if Wenger stays on.

According to a report from the Metro, striker Lucas Perez will look for a move away from North London if Wenger does indeed sign a new deal. The Spaniard, despite faring well in very limited opportunities, has struggled for a place in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI and has grown frustrated with his situation at the club. It is understood that the forward wants to work towards a call-up to the Spanish squad for the 2018 World Cup and it appears as though he is open to a return to Deportivo in order to do so.

Despite the fact that Lucas has been very professional about his situation, you would feel that the player is quite disappointed with his position at the club and with Wenger looking extremely likely to carry on at the helm, it appears as though the Spaniard’s tenure in North London will be a short-lived. It’s a shame really, considering that Lucas has impressed almost every time he was given the opportunity and Wenger still wouldn’t give him more game time.

But with that being said, I really hope Le Prof can finally bring in long-term target Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates. In fact, it was because a £29.3 million Arsenal bid was rejected for the Lyon hitman that Wenger decided to go for Lucas Perez. However, with the French international striker now confirming that he will leave if the right offer arrives, it is surely a green light for the Gunners boss to finally go get his man. While Lucas has been terribly unfortunate, there is no denying that Lacazette, who has 30 goals in all competitions this season, is certainly an upgrade.

  1. Any player can be an upgrade when they arrive Arsenal, but Wenger will certainly manage to downgrade them to deadwood quickly enough.

    1. He should have gone to Everton

Reckon he would have been a success there
I Like perez, showed his usefulness when he played

    2. Oh and I would like to add that I don’t think Perez is deadwood, at all.

But in Wenger’s eyes he seems to be.

  2. Want so hard to become a deadwood in a matter of months?
    .
Sign up to be managed by Arsene wenger

    .
It’d be a dream come true!!!

  3. It looks like his signing was the catalyst for T Walcott’s recent goal exploits. What I don’t get about Wenger and Theo is, when we are trying to stop soft goals or bad defending, Wenger has to remove Theo from the line-up and place Oxlade or even Ramsey there instead. If Arsene knows this weakness, why has he kept the player around for so long, why is he a top earner, and the armband?. How difficult is it to find capable attacking wide-men which never shirk their responsibility.

  4. PAS
    Perez Asano Sanogo.
    The triple strike force.
    Premier League – Champion’s League 2018.
    Winners.
    Here we come 🙂

    1. The fact u got likes for this
And everyone else got thumbs down
      Tells me it’s silly season

      Happy days 🙂

      1. yes i wonder what’s happening here. someone has exchanged the up and down thumbs, you’d think you thumbed up the comment but it’s a thumb down in reality

        1. Yes, this board is being sabotaged today. many thumbs down yet no reasonable counter arguments. It shows here on this site that 9 out of 10 want Wenger gone more than anything whilst only 1 out of 10 want him to stay. 🙂

  5. 30 goals
I think 16 are pens so 14 goals in the French league is no biggie
We should target Lukaka or Mbape

    1. Mbape or Lukaku would be great but I would not be surprised if both go for close to 100 million and I would expect both to want to go to clubs with a prospect to win either PL or CL.

  6. Considering how much players cost these days, it would be great to nab Lacazette at a decent price (maybe £40,000,001?). My real wish would be to get Mbappe, the lad looks to be a world-beater and he’s still in his teens. Plays like he’s spent a decade learning how to get around defenders already. Not sure if we could spare the £130mil that Monaco have valued him at, but still, we can only dream.

    1. Lacazette surely will be priced north of 50-60 million and that is probably the end of our chances to land him.

      1. We could have got Lacazette couple of years ago valued at 30-35 millions but Wenger said we got Wellbeck and OG then he got couple of injuries last season and his level dropped but this year is banging goals for fan also he’s 25 years old so there is plenty to get from. we should sell OG back to lyon in exchange for lacazzete and few millions. Keep Lucas and Alexis so we got a decent attack then Wells and Theo as cover. Raid Wolsfburg for Luiz Gustavo and Rodigues in combined 60 millions and we are done ( ST-DM and LB ). but I guess we will get Su Sang the New Asian Messi and Topak Kuru the Beast from Burmese top league on a free. Another 2 more years of hurt and humiliation ahead.

  7. Javier Harnandez should be our priority because hs has experienced of Premier League and Currently is in amazing form from Byer in the Bundesliga.
It will bargain but as well. He won’t cost as much Lacazzate.

  8. I’d say Mesut Ozil + £50m for Reus + Aubameyang (Reus gotta play cam)
    Barca got MSN
    Madrid got BBC
    Arsenal got ARS
    lol.

    1. You probably would not even get Aubameyang for 50+Ozil. I think he will valued at at least 100 million. Ozil with 1 year left on his contract will not fetch 50 million.

  9. Well 11 players will need to either leave, go on loan or be delisted from the EPL squad as it stands. we will have 36 players born 1995 or earlier, including 6 goalkeepers!!
Gk- Cech, ospina, szczesney, martinez, macey, iliev
D – Debuchy, gibbs, Mertesacker, Gabriel, koscielny, holding, Monreal, mustafi, chambers, bellerin, jenkinson
M- ramsey, wilshire, ozil, chamberlain, cazorla, xhaka, coquelin, elneny, toral, kamara
F- alexis, perez, giroud, walcott, sanogo, welbeck, asano, campbell, akpom

So choose ur 11 to miss out, then decide who else should miss out for any new signings

    1. szczesney
      debuchy
      mertesacker
      jenkinson
Chambers (Wenger doesn’t seem to rate him and Holding looks solid – seemed like a nice guy with promiss but ATM a waste of serious money)
      ramsey
      wilshire
perez (only becasue Wenger doesn’t like him)
      giroud
      sanogo
campbell (only because Wenger doesn’t like him)

  10. Ny the way, lacazette just scored again against Besiktas. Guy has potential in the right team and right formation.
