Who should Arsenal buy and sell this summer?

32 Players that Arsenal are keeping eyes on, 3 potential incomings, 8 potential outgoings

With more than 7 players looking likely to leave the Emirates this summer, I’ve highlighted 32 players based on form and/or we’ve been linked with in the last 6 months that could be a-listed by Arsenal scouts for summer marketing. It is looking increasing likely that Arsenal are set to lose David Ospina to Turkish side Fenerbache this summer with the two clubs already looking to complete a swift deal for the 28 year old Columbian international. Arsenal could also be open to offers for defenders Per Mertesacker, Carl Jenkinson, Keiran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal with Everton and Athletic Bilbao linked with the English and Spanish internationals. Mathieu Debuchy could also feature on the departure list with several French clubs looking to bring him back to his native country.

Yaya Sanogo may be offloaded to the Championship, while Joel Campbell could follow Ospina to Fenerbache. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere are set to attract interest amid speculation to Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil may or may not leave the club this window; Arsenal may look to extend the two English international’s contracts. Olivier Giroud could be tempted with a move to Marseille whom have a firm interest in the 30 year old.

With players set to leave this summer, it could pave way for some other squad players to step up including the likes of Wojciech Szczesny, Emiliano Martinez, Gabriel, Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny, Krstien Bielik, Jeff-Reine Adelaide, Jack Wilshere, Takuma Asano and Chuba Akpom. Youth academy prospects Ainsley Maintland-Niles, Gedion Zelalem, Jon Toral and Rob Holding will be looking into cementing into the first team, while others like Ben Sheaf, Cohen Bramall, Donyell Malen, Reiss Nelson, Chris Willock, Stephy Mavididi, Dan Crowley and Stefan O’Connor will be relishing for a first team opportunity.

The Gunners will most likely look into recruiting top targets Jordan Pickford, Ben Gibson and Naby Keita with reports that Arsenal have already began negotiations. Other top targets like Leon Goretzka could be pursuaded by Italian football with Juve believed to be interested in the 22 year old. Alexander Lacazette would attract worldwide interest and it would be up to Arsenal to commit to a deal sooner rather than later. Finally, Wilfred Zaha could attract interest from numerous Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs.

      1. Your pricing on ozil an sanchez is ludicrous.
How.much did 28 year old higuian go for 75 million?

Ur saying even though sanchez is way better than gonzalo we should sell for half the price

        Funny

        1. No Your saying Sanchez is
          way better than Gonzo.
          No decent club wanted sanchez.
I f Sanchez was way better than Gonzo
he would have cost more than the 36 mill Arsenal paid for him.

      2. I don’t give a tupence who gets sold and who we buy. I just want Mr. Wenger out and any players who is not happy with it should have his contract terminated. This is Arsenal not a trade by barter Mr. Wenger has turned it into.

  2. Arsenal should plan for the summer as follows

Sell the following dead wood players
    Asano 5m
    Szczesny 15.5m
    Chambers 12m
    Jack 30m
    Joel 5m
    Lucas 17.5m

    Total sale = 85m
In Belotti = 85m (Net spend 0) – (Technically selling all loan players and replacing Lucas with Belotti)

    Sell Giroud = 20-25m & Welbeck = 25m, replace with Lacazette = 50m (Net spend 0)
If Alexis signs new agreement great or else sell for 50m & replace with Reus = 50m (Net spend 0)

    Sell Coquelin = 15-20m & Ramsey = 30m and replace with Bakayoko = 45-50m (Net spend 0)
    Sell Ox=30m & Elneny = 15m and buy Zaha = 20m & Keita = 26m (Net spend = 1m)

Sell Jenkinson = 7m & Debuchy = 0; replace with anyone i’m not sure here as back up to Bellerin
    Sell Monreal = 7m and buy Mendy = 12m (Net spend = 5m)
    Sell Gabriel = 12m & Mertesacker = 8m; buy Gibson or Keane = 30m (net spend 10m)
    Sell Ospina = 7m & buy Pickford = 15m (net spend 8m)

    Total net spend 24m

  3. We should sell Kos,Bellerin,Santi,Ozil,Alexis,Mustafi and buy Bonucci,New RB (that doesn’t faint during matches),Isco,Fabregas and Lacazette

  4. Sell:

    Ospina
    Debuchy/Jenkinson
    Mertesacker (free?)
    Gibbs
    Coquelin/Wilshere/loan Ramsey
    Sanogo/Giroud/Akpom

    Buy:
    GK:
Butland or Sunderland GK to compete with Martinez and Woj for No 1 in 2018-19 season (keep Cech)
    RB:
Solid RB behind Bellerin (would Bertrand accept this role? Probably not.)
    CB:
I think we’re okay at CB but must have options lined up for January if Holding/Gabriel/Chambers/Bielik don’t cut it
    LB:
Top class LB to start (Rodriguez, Alaba (not a great crosser), maybe that young kid at Middlesbrough, Schmelzer–Dortmund captain–or L Baines, if he’d come).
    RW:
A great crosser of the ball at RW who can dribble. I’m not wise to many reasonable targets with this skill? I’ll leave it up to you guys.
    CM:
Tough call here. We go in with 4 guys in my opinion: Santi, El Neny, Ox, and Xhaka. Cannot rely on coquelin wilshere or Ramsey (still think he needs a loan). This leaves us without an enforcer. Options: Goretzka, Lars Bender, and dreaming ambitiously on Matuidi or Renato Sanches.
    LW:
Go after Lucas Moura for a dribbling attacking winger who can play either wing.
    Forwards:
Here is where we must purchase big but smart. I like MBappe but wary of all the promising talents who go nowhere after their big move. I would test both Barcelona and City for Suarez (85million) or Aguero (60). If those are declined, bet big on MBappe or Lacazette. One things for certain, we must have similar quality at Striker as the Aguero/Costa/Kane/Ibras of our fellow contenders without compromising our LW having to put Alexis there.

    -Drayton
    Up Gunnas!

  5. Sell ozil and sanchez for lets say £120m, then we buy isnge and try our luck signing cavani, we can try and buy matuidi… hamsik will be a good addition too, and replace cech, then we will win the league next season, i guarantee you that…
