With Ozil sick who should Arsenal start in Liverpool?

Maybe Arsenal should think about getting a flu jab for our German international star next season, if he decides to sign a new contract and stay in north London that is, because Mesut Ozil is out of action for the trip to face Liverpool in the Premier League today and it is not the first time that the attacking midfielder has been unavailable due to illness.

However, with Metro reporting that the German has failed to shake off his latest dose of flu and will not be in the squad today, the question is who should replace him for Arsenal in that crucial number 10 role?

I would not mind seeing Arsene Wenger put Alexis Sanchez in there to be honest, as we have both Welbeck and Giroud available and could play Danny out wide if necessary. We also have Walcott to play on the right and Lucas Perez for the other side if that is the way the boss wants to go.

If not the Chilean then the Gunners have two clear options in the two Alex’s, Iwobi and Oxlade-Chamberlain and in that case I would prefer the Ox to get a go as he is more direct and dynamic with more pace to hurt Liverpool on the counter. He also offers more on the defensive side of things in my opinion.

Iwobi, on the other hand, is more of an Ozil type of player so if Wenger wants to keep the same sort of system and style of play we are used to then he might prefer the youngster. What would you do?

Bob.

If our front is Perez, Sanchez, Welbeck we can win this game.

This is good but then who will play AMF. These three would be my main attackers with fully fit squad.

Exactly my thought, Ozil is not even useful for these kinda games even so its a win-win for me….

I will be glad if Iwobi starts from the bench too, kid needs some to learn from the bench…

So I will have Sanchez in the hole, with Welbeck flanked by Perez and Ox or Walcott…

Giroud on the bench and Xhaka Coq to marshal the midfield..considering liverpool are without some players,we should win but you never know..

    Perez——-Giroud—–Welbeck
    ————–Sanchez—————

This would be my front line and AMF.

    B2B2: Xhaka

    LF: Welbeck
    CF: Alexis
    RF: Theo

I doubt it is because of an injury otherwise he would not be on the bench. I think Wenger has lost the plot and the squad. Say what you want about Alexis but he works harder than anyone despite wanting away. He is not the reason we are struggling. He is always our best player. Bench him in a must win game against a direct competitor?? If you can’t play your best player you have lost it.

if Alexis got dropped this is just a huge middle finger from Wenger to everyone. He’s simply given up. I’m waiting for the tweet saying Sanchez has a minor injury. If it doesn’t come and we lose this match, Arsene should simply step down in the post-match interview.

Don’t understand this team lineup, Ox had consistently performed in Santis position, and not on the wing where Lucas has consistently performed, but he is on the wing and Lucas on the bench. Alexis will be hopping mad to be on the bench unless his leg is broken. The only crumb of comfort is that Ramsey isn’t starting.

I don’t even know why we try to understand these lineups anymore. It’s terrible. Why does Iwobi still start? Hasn’t been good for months. And yes, the only positive is that Ramsey isn’t in CAM role, which I was half expecting since we have no ozil. This lineup is just disrespectful. I feel bad for the travelling fans. I’d say the team can still prove us wrong, but based on recent performances, I honestly don’t think these group of players care enough. If Liverpool score first I expect to see everyone put their head downs like usual.

Don’t you get it? He obviously is resting Sanchez for the comeback against Bayern Munich.

On a more serious note maybe there was a feud, which would be a good thing, because you know one (Sanchez) isn’t happy with the way things are.

But most likely he is carrying injury, only on the bench because there is no one else.

Once again Perez can’t get a start. Manager is deluded. Why buy a player for £17m and not play him. He is a creative player as well as decent finishing. Far better than most of the other players in attack.

I think your right, I bet alexis came back from his little holiday and said F**K it, and had it out with Wenger. There is no possible come back against bayern so I don’t think he’s being rested. I’m on team Sanchez lol.

The problem is he is deluded enough to actually rest Sanchez for Bayern. It’s not like the whole squad just came off a long break too… Why do I even attempt to understand this man?? And the way Perez is being treated is disgraceful. Piss poor lineup.

Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Xhaka, Welbeck, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Iwobi, Giroud ? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? Resting alexis for BayerN? Do you really think we got a chance? this is disrespectful to all of US. we should focus in wining this game after UTD draw. Wenger YOU MUST BE RIGHT AND WIN TODAY cos IF WE LOSE YOU should come out in the post game interview and do the HONEST and RESIGN. We had enough!

Perez on the bench again, Ox does well in the middle, so obviously he’s back on the wing, where he always plays rubbish. I think now it’s now fair to say, that Wenger is deliberately trying to mess things up.

The most annoying part for me is Iwobi getting another start ahead of Perez,I mean if the lad is doing well fine but he is not exactly outstanding gosh!!

And Giroud starting will also weaken our counter attacks and give Pool more freedom to press even higher…

Wenger never learns,he surely never learns..

Wenger is not pragmatic enough. Coquelin is really out of it this season. Him and Xhaka in midfield is not working. And I would have preferred AOC as a box to box and Perez plays through the wing. As for Sanchez, yes Arsenal is poor and lacks ambition but his actions to his teammates is just disrespectful! He is gone we all know that! And Wenger too!

Apparently he has no injury. Just dropped. Must have to do with him not signing a contract. So his punishment is him getting paid, while we have to watch a loss. Top management. Get Wenger OUT.

The Arsenal boss has just said: “We’re going with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck up front because we will need to be a bit more direct and strong in the air.” HaHaHa +Ha. You must be sure we do not lose today because I’m bringing my banner tonight to the emirates and Bayern game will be volatile to said the least.
