Why Arsenal fans should NOT worry about Stoke

Over the last few years Arsenal fans have looked on an away game against Stoke City in much the same way that Flash Gordon felt when he had to stick his hand in that old tree stump that had a horrible pain and death inflicting creature lurking somewhere in the depths.

And it seems that some of us still do but I think that we do not really need to be so worried as Arsenal prepare for the trip to the Potteries tomorrow. I will give you a couple of reasons why I am confident that Arsebnal will come back to north London tomorrow in good spirits.

The first is that Stoke under Mark Hughes are no longer the bruising and battling long ball specialists that used to give us so much trouble in the Tony Pulis days. So that means it is going to be a game of football rather than Rugby tomorrow and you know that this suits Arsenal better, even though we are much more capable of dealing with a battle these days.

The second is that Arsenal have proved over the last year or so that we react well to a bad result, poor performance or some other kind of adversity. In fact we are at out best when something has gone wrong and after Liverpool hit us with a late equaliser on Wednesday I reckon every single player is going to be up for it.

Beware Stoke because we are coming for you!

  1. There’s cause to get worried my friend

    1) Citeh WON today

    and

    2) the foxes dropped Two priceless points

WE DEFINITELY HAVE TO WIN tomorrow!

    1. With flick & header merchant upfront there is plenty to worry about…hey just stating the truth nothing else!

  2. any team that bully us press us we cannot handle.
they have been our bogey team for ages for that reason.
but now they have technically gifted players.

    i would take a draw.

off topic…we picked sanogo over afobe.
hope we dont live to regret this

    1. u jinxed us in the Liverpool game the other day……. When u said u’d take a draw….

      don’t do that again muff!

(I’m one selfish, greedy thingy, i want all the damn points bru)

          1. well NIKK…….. U got freedom of speech……but Don’t be surprised u don’t even own a job ..why am i even saying this???? L()L

    2. @muffdiver
Correct on both fronts my brother…Afobe is taking his chance and is only gonna go from strength to strength. Dude would have been a perfect targetman replacement for Olivier…

      1. i remember you were championing afobe on here early.
i hope ur wrong. i really do.

i will be beyond gutted if he turns into a consistent premier league striker that we let go for basically nothing

      2. @NYG………i really do think wenger never wanted afobe ….here’s why!

        2010–2015 Arsenal
        2010–2011 → Huddersfield Town (loan)
        2012 → Reading (loan)
        2012–2013 → Bolton Wanderers (loan)
        2013 → Millwall (loan)
        2014 → Sheffield Wednesday (loan)
2014–2015 → Milton Keynes Dons (loan)
        2015–2016 Wolverhampton Wanderers
        2016– Bournemouth

There were very many chances to have brought him back…..

  3. For years we had a terrible
    record versus the top teams.
We feared them and often froze.
After our loss to Chelsea though
we have not lost to any top sides.
Beat Leicester away 5-2, beat City at home
beat Utd 3-0 at home drew with Spurs at home
drew with Liverpool 2x and even beat Bayern Munich 2-0.
Leicester drew at Villa so we only need
a draw at Stoke to go top again.
Even if we lose we will be on the
same points as our main rival City.
So we can afford to attack all out tomorrow.
We have Sanchez back we have added Elneny.
We will get Coq and Santi back soon enough.
Walcott and Ox are overdue to fire.
City have more games to play than us and will tire.
ARSEBNAL for the EPBL Title 🙂

  4. Yes we should worry
To worry means we will take them seriously, prepare well and play our best to defeat them

And I believe tomorrow is a MUST WIN. This is because Man City won today and impressively I might add and even though Leicester drew they are still at the moment one point ahead of us. I don’t want us to be third place tomorrow night

If we win against stoke then we will regain a 2 Point lead over Leicester and maintain a 3 points lead over man city..

    So let’s win tomorrow. I don’t care how, whether it’s 0-5, 1-2,, 2-3, 0-1. Just win. A win is a win.

  5. The Gunners and the Boss know as much as we known that a win at Stoke will see them back on top of the ladder tomorrow and they’ll be looking down on the Foxes and Citizens who will be bellow them.

To climb to the top of that ladder tomorrow won’t be easy as the Porters will be throwing their potteries at the Gunners to down them as they are climbing up the ladder. But thank God, the Gunners have trained well enough to become body resistant to throwing of objects. The throwing of potteries will not hurt the Gunners as their bodies have gotten used to throwing of objects and have become pains resistant.
