Why Chelsea can help Arsenal to lift Premier League trophy

With Arsenal travelling across London to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to face the current Premier League champions Chelsea, the poor form and internal strife of Jose Mourinho´s team could certainly be a big help to Arsene Wenger and the Gunners, as a win would have us fully over the shaky and worrying start of the season.

Even a draw would not be too bad and would keep Chelsea feeling the blues and struggling to keep in touch with the teams at the top of the table. It is already looking as though Chelsea will not be challenging for the title this season, especially if Arsenal beat them on Saturday and open up a nine point gap.

The faltering champions could help Arsenal´s title challenge in another way as well though, because Man City are currently on a 100 percent EPL run and unless something happens to knock them off their stride, it might not matter how far ahead of Chelsea we finish because it will be City lifting the giant trophy next May.

A few injury problems have started to come up for City and that could help, although they do have a very strong and deep squad. For me their biggest weakness is in the attitude and focus of the players, highlighted by how poor and inconsistent they have been in both seasons after winning the league.

So with Chelsea, supposedly their main rivals, in such disarray, there is a real chance that City could relax and take their eye off the ball and if that happens and they do lose momentum, it is a hard thing to get back and Arsenal could be the ones to take advantage and close the gap. Do you think City will continue to steamroller on or will they start to slip up?

  1. This is funny. Juventus 16 on the table with a point. City 1 on the table with 15 points. But what is the CL result? 1-2 with Juventus scoring all the goals. We should not take chances today. One game at a time. Face today’s game and win, then see what will happen on Saturday. Chelsea can’t help us to win the league. it is only us that can help ourselves.

  2. Just goes to show how funny football can be sometimes! No team can be taken for granted, even a bottom team can shock a top team!

  3. This is what I dont like fans hoping for other clubs to slip up so Arsenal win the league. When we lost to westham people were like “chill out its only one game” with the hope that City would have probably lost a game by now and we would catch up. Except City is not losing and they are the strongest team in the league. So now this Article begging for Chelsea’s help. The mentality i hold for the league is to imagine that your closest rival will win all their games except the 2 fixtures we beat them in. Yes that may be extremely unlikely but its better than hoping after you lose an easy match.

  4. Fook a draw. I want to beat Chelsea @ the Bridge

But first things first. Lets concentrate on Zagreb
We don’t want to suffer the same fate as the two Manchester teams suffered tonight (hehehe)

We need a good performance tomorrow evening to go into the Chelsea game

  5. Many see mancity as the team to beat, however in my book its Chelsea and once they get going will become difficult to stop. i am quite happy to play them right now.
Hoping for victory against Dinamo, they have good technical players, but iexpect victory
