Why Draxler transfer can be DOUBLE boost for Arsenal

If Arsene Wenger does finally get the transfer of Julian Draxler done today after being linked with the talented young Germany international for years, as the latest Arsenal transfer rumours from the likes of the Daily Star are suggesting may happen, it could give the Gunners a double boost to our hopes of trophy success this season.

The transfer of the 23-year old from the big spending French club PSG would increase the chances that Arsenal would finally sanction to sale of Alexis Sanchez to PSG but that may well happen anyway so I am going to look at the potential positives of signing Draxler rather than any negatives. We already have more than enough of them around Arsenal.

The German attacker could fill that role on the left flank that Alexis will vacate and we have already signed a new centre forward in Alexandre Lacazette, with Olivier Giroud a very effective option as well. Draxler is a pretty versatile player as well and would also give the Gunners an option more centrally where Mesut Ozil is currently the first choice.

As well as giving us an option and Ozil competition to keep him on his toes, the fact that Draxler and our number 11 play international football together is also a plus point as they could further develop an already good understanding on the pitch.

I think Draxler would be a great transfer addition for Arsenal, but will it happen?

Bob.

  1. Please let it come and go already. Even If we get Suarez, we won’t be challenging for the title as long as Wenger is there. Arms folded, let’s see what happens today

    1. And to all those Arsenal players who I heard wants Alexis out, you’re all a disgrace. I stand with Sanchez on this one, a player not willing to accept mediocrity and wants to be successful but others wants to take advantage of his stance to say he’s causing disharmony. I hope they perform this season without Sanchez who carried them till the end of last season if not it will be a shame to them all

      1. Arsenal is full of Players with creativity but lacks hunger and drive. Seriously these guys are a disgrace to football considering everything the fans have gone through because of them yet there’s no improvement

  2. Draxler will not happen either German coach has already come out and said he will not be leaving PGS!! Next rumour please!!

  3. I’d like Draxler too but face it, it’s not going to happen! We’re losing players left, right & centre. We were thrashed at the weekend, played terrible football. Confidence is low. Arsene has lost the plot as well as the dressing room but says not to panic!!!!!

  4. We need to cross our fingers and hope we bring in reinforcements the team look like they are lacking any togetherness on the pitch.

For our sanity let’s hope some quality is coming into the club

  5. Whether draxler or not arsenal is still a weaker team,is it something bad if we have both draxler and Sanchez in the same team fighting for places, just imagine van persie,Sanchez, ozil, carzola are in the same team, with likes of inform konsieny, mustafi, and konlansinic, and good holding midfider,…our problem with this 343 information or 3421 information apart from Wenger playing players out of position we don’t have a strong holdmidfider that retrieve the ball back when we lost possession…Kant’s is perfect example of that, look at the job he does at Chelsea is amazing……without a good holding midfielder our defenders are vulnerable

  6. Sadly, we won’t sign any more players this window.

We’ll sell Oxlade-Chamberlain and I wouldn’t be surprised if Alexis goes at the stroke of midnight.

If we sell the above two, that would leave us with 28 first team players (as per the official Arsenal website).

The limit is 25 first team players, so we also need to shift out another three players – Akpom, Debuchy and Lucas would be the obvious ones in my mind.

We also need to let Joel Campbell go, so that would mean we only have 24 players.

In theory, shedding all those players (especially Alexis) would free up some wages to afford one more player, but as I originally said, we won’t sign anyone else. Wenger’s more likely to promote Reiss Nelson from the academy squad!

Other problems as I see it are that of the first team squad, we’ve only got two keepers and Cazorla is counted in that number and he’s injured for who knows how long.

The Ramsey – Xhaka midfield doesn’t work. In Cazorla’s absence we need to find a better balance, but our options are limited, as we’ve only really got Coquelin and Elneny who can claim to be defensive midfielders and both have their limitations.

All in all, it’s going to be another season of square pegs in round holes. At least with Oxlade-Chamberlain gone, Wenger will play Bellerin on the right and Kolasinac on the left, or is that me just being crazy!?!

  7. I seriously doubt that anyone of any note will come in – but let’s see, maybe something will happen. Only trouble is, if a new player does come in, he’ll have to fit into Wenger’s system. And there in lies the problem…Wenger. Our midfield is truly awful, square pegs in round holes, no strength or vision among them ( yes I’m including Ozil, though not Santi when he’s fit ). Arsenal is more a business than a football club now. That’s why Ox and Sanchez will be sold – it makes perfect business sense. Make no mistake, had anyone actually wanted him, Ozil would be off as well. This is just how it is now.

  8. Mendy, Danilo, Walker
    YaYa Fernandinho Gundogan
    Stirling, Sane, Kevin D’B .
    Bernado Silva, David Silva,
    Jesus, Aguero.
Why exactly does City need Sanchez?
Talk about buying the league !!!

  9. Had Wenger bought players just after the signing of Lacazette all would have looked so rosy. But his tight ass contracted through fear and it was all too much for Wenger. No more players. Spending money causes Wenger’s body to have a seizure. The only other thing that does that are the supporters. Wenger’s ass has a reaction to the supporters who cause his ass to tighten. It’s hard to be a manager when one’s ass is very tight.
