Why it can be Stoke NOT Liverpool that gives Arsenal an EPL boost

Knowing the way things tend to go for Arsenal, it will be us Gooners left counting the cost of dropping valuable Premier League points this weekend. Assuming the Gunners do not suffer one of our too regular on pitch slip ups, though, it would be nice if at least one of the four clubs currently above Arsenal in the league table were to drop points.

I am not holding my breath, though, as Chelsea go to a Crystal Palace yet to pick up a point or even score a goal while Tottenham host a Bournemouth team almost as badly off as Palace, The clubs we really want to see held to a draw or beaten, though, are the big spenders from Manchester.

With United away to Liverpool most people see this as the most likely to see one of the top two dragged back, but I just have a sneaky feeling that Mark Hughes and his Stoke City side could cause an upset away to Man City. We know they will go there planning to defend for their lives but if Man City are without their top scorer Sergio Aguero the Potters will feel a lot more confident.

We have seen City suffer from nerves before if they don’t take an early lead, so if Stoke can frustrate them as they did to United it could be a big boost for Arsenal and with their manager returning to his former club they will certainly be fired up for the challenge.

Cross your fingers Arsenal fans, because Stoke may just have a surprise in store for Man City.

  1. Stoke will get hammered by City…

Theres no way Stoke can stop City’s mighty fire power

Sane, Aquero and Jesus….either one of them would take them down easily

not to mention the creativity of De Bruyne and Silva

  2. Let’s focus on our game against the inform watford.

Stoke won’t do anything against Man city..

We shouldn’t have lost to them!
