Why new manager Allegri will bring INSTANT glory to Arsenal?

Not ebery Arsenal fan would put the Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri at the top of their transfer wish list as the club seeks to replace the long serving Artsene Wenger, but his amazing record of success with the serial Serie A champions Juventus and his impressive credentials before that with AC Milan and others suggest that he is one of the best.

According to a Sky Sports report, however, there is another much bigger reason than his record of success for Arsenal fans to get excited about this potential appointment.

It appears that Allegri has something of a midas touch when it comes to dealing with awkward players,. and a way to get the best out of talented but also not the most motivated of stars. Arsenal certainly have more than our fair share of them, but just imagine how good we could be if the likes of Ozil and Wilshere were operating at full potential every week.

Check out the report and the stories of the various ways Allegri has managed to get frustrating enigmas like Mario Balotelli doing the business. Does this make the Juventus boss firm favourite to take over from Wenger? I think it must do.

  1. I don’t mind even if the new manager fails to get any major trophy at Arsenal, as long as he can show us a lot of well-planned open play goals. Like what Guardiola’s Man City and Klopp’s Liverpool did

I like the way Allegri’s Juventus play, because it’s like a mixture between good attacks and strong defense. Hence it’s still entertaining as compared to watching Simeone’s Atletico Madrid and Mourinho’s Man United play

The way he converted Mandzukic into a winger/ wide forward is interesting and I think he would bring some Juventus players with him

    1. If he could bring the Juventus Winning Mentality with him that would be a good start. The Club must do EVERYTHING to convince Allegri to come to Arsenal and back him in the transfer market. This Manager is about to win his FOURTH DOUBLE on the trot in the four seasons he has been at Juventus. While I accept SeriaA is not as competitive as the Premiership it is still some achievement when you consider how far he got them in the Champions League each of those seasons.
Make him feel he is our ONLY CHOICE.Offer him wages he can’t turn down.Offer him incentives and a lifestyle his family will be willing to uproot and move to London.
This guy will bring us success IF THE BOARD AND OWNER BACK HIM.
If not we will end up with David Moyes if we’re not careful

      1. Maybe he is not the perfect manager, because we have seen how his Juventus got pinned down by Pochettino’s Tottenham. Luckily his involvement in the field changed the situation

But if we are looking for quick results and a proven manager that could stand up against the likes of Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp and Pochettino, one of them is Allegri

        1. @gotanidea-What he did do in that second leg at Wembley was identify what was going wrong and changed tactics. He turned defeat into victory and that’s not something we can say happened at Arsenal too often over the past decade. We only really ever played one way which proved very predictable to whoever we played.
Let’s take AM at the Emirates.Simeone KNEW our line-up before he even caught the flight over.Knew our tactics.Knew our game plan.We never try anything different.Im not saying this is the answer but if we suddenly turned in a team sheet with a 3/5/1/1 that would have made him think. If day he had both Monreal AND Kolasinac wide left in a 4/4/2 that would have offered something different.
Not saying it’s the answer but we do need someone who applies different ideas and most importantly make those ideas get results

          1. Agree with everyone above. Allegri is the best fit for Arsenal at the moment. Almost £100 million has been lost by not being in the Champions League; that’s 2 to 3 class players transfer fees.
The cost to appoint Allegri is small change compared to missing out on the Champions League for another season.

          2. Concur

Simone was tactically better….defensive wise AM was better drilled at it….

so much hype about AM from the media…

but after watching both games….we were way superior in terms of attack and dominated them…..

like Mourinho….Simone is one of the Kings of Defense…got to give credit to them for that….

            1. They rode their luck to be completely frank. The first game could have ended in disaster for Atletico. By rights Auba should’ve been involved, that might’ve severely impacted on the game. I believe they rode their luck, if Monreal hadn’t been the last man back, which he shouldn’t have been, then Kos stepping up puts an entirely different spin on things. Also Mustafi slipping, Atletico could not believe that they would have it handed to them like that. Looking at the quality overall, you’re right Atletico were massively over-hyped by the media. The Arsenal players should’ve been more confident, esp the forwards who were snatching at the ball all night rather than being firm with follow through. It’s like they all caught something from Iwobi which was catching for that game, bar Lacazette. Some might think it’s sour grapes but it’s not, think back to what it was like when we got a result but the performance was poor. We’d say what was bad about the game and say how we expect much better. If we played how Atletico played, people in here would not have that settle very well at all. The game could easily have turned out very differently. Would have been nice to see Arsene leaving with a European winners medal.

      2. Phil,
Your last two sentences are the crucial part of the jigsaw puzzle for me.
It seems that Enrique has been and gone as a candidate after pricing himself out with those (reportedly) ridiculous salary claims.
I have no idea what Allegri is earning at the moment, but I would like to think it is the challenge and the history of the club that will attract the man, not the money.
The lifestyle regarding his family is another important factor and why someone would see Chelsea offering better in that area I fail to understand.
We do have some top players already and he will know that himself.
My big concern is that if he turns us down, what plans do we have then?
I just hope we are not putting all our eggs into one basket.
If that is the case, then i still think Vieria and Bergkamp should be considered before any other candidate, despite their perceived lack of experience.
Whatever the case, a decision must be made sooner rather than later, otherwise we could find ourselves being held to ransom!

        1. I am pretty sure he will turn us down. I don’t see a single reason for the man to come. Top managers these days negotiate about how much money will be made available for them to invest in the squad. Arsenal will not offer enough on that front.

I keep saying Jardim is the man. He is used to managing on a low budget and bringing along young players.

          1. Nothinh Changed,
I can only say that if the board have been telling us the truth, then money is no object regarding transfers.
Gazidis said there were only two players the club couldn’t afford.
So we have to rely on that statement and assume that won’t be a stumbling block regarding negotiations.
Would also like to point out that P.V.(N.Y.C.) and D.B.(Ajax) are/ have worked at clubs with smaller transfer kittys than Arsenal currently have.

            1. agree with Ken and Nothing Changed

              Jardim is the best choice…

he has worked with a limited budget before…..best man to do the job….

ain easy when you have a job with heaps of politics involve….

              Mislintat and Raul…….

          2. Hey doom and gloom you don’t know what’s going on behind those closed doors look on the bright side we are changing the guard

    2. Arsenal not close to appointing new manager. No agreement yet on chosen candidate, negotiations at relatively early stage, thorough process ongoing, next week looks unrealistic. Once decided, IG/RS/SM will present recommendation to #AFC board. Arteta among names being considered

      David Ornstein an hour ago

  2. why would any reasonable fan not want allegri…the guy loves to win… unlike someone I know..

    1. If he bring defensive solidity, I will say he has brought something but if he wins anything, it is only a MIRACLE.
There are so many under-current in this league EPL, that is much more complex than the Serie A. Also, the UCL finals he had played was/were no contest for a neural, he did put up a fight, I did not see a fight, at least in 2006 Arsenal put up a fight, except for only one player, TH.

    2. He could have relegated AC Milan when he has to manage resources, sometimes all that glitters r not gold!!!

  3. Allegri would be amazing
But I think he would chose Chelsea over us if he had the choice. Reasons:
    1. Abramovic vs Kroenke
    2. West London
    3. Potentially higher salary
    4. More funds so better chance of Trophies

    1. Plus Chelsea players are so used to play with three CBs and wingback tactics, the strategy Allegri likes to use in Serie A

      1. Innit and gotanidea, you both leave out the revolving door of managers at Chelsea. Please note that Allegri has been at Juventus for 4 seasons. Don’t you think Allegri would be influenced by the loyalty and patience previously shown by Arsenal towards Arsene Wenger, rather than Chelsea where managers are dismissed on the whim of Abramovic.

        1. I agree OG -Arsenal will show a degree of patience to whoever comes in whereas Chelski will not tolerate anything other than instant success.Allegri will know this and to my mind makes us a far better option if he is to leave Juventus.IF we show the desire to get him and PROVE our intentions I’m sure we can win him over.He has proved HIS credentials so we must prove OURS to him.

  4. Who ever becomes manager
is taking over a weak over paid
    under performing squad not used
    to challenging for big trophies.
The new gaffer has to improve the quality of the squad
and change the mentality to one of supreme ambition.
“INSATANT” glory is tongue in cheek from admin of course because
no Arsenal supporter expects PL-CL double in the first season.
What we do expect is a clear out of the dead wood.
We want players to know their job and play accordingly.
We expect a ferocious desire to win every game.
Is Allegri the man for the job? Who would know. Time will tell.

    1. barryglik, Allegri like Simeone is a manager who does not tolerate less than 100% commitment to the team and the cause of winning.

      1. Allegri lets the football do his talking, makes tactical changes and takes responsibility for those changes. Simeone creates distraction, puts too much focus on aggression, time wasting, and bickering. Sometimes watching a Simeone team play is like watching something other than a sport. Allegri I can see at the helm of Arsenal. Simeone I could never see being the figurehead of this great club. I think fans know this, you wanted change but it’s a cop-out to say ..I want Simeone. You need to put your hat behind any and all managers that you would rather see managing Arsenal instead of predecessor Arsene Wenger.

  5. I honestly think max allegri is using arsenal’s interest in him to get a better deal at juventus and to get the juventus board to back him in the transfer market.

MIKEL ARTETA might be the next arsenal manager.

it makes sense for the arsenal board- young, low salary, can work under the new management structure, knows arsenal values.

Why are they not looking at LEONARDO JARDIM is beyond me.

    1. So Nayr you have held discussions with Allegri to know his plans? I don’t understand why some of our fans are so pessimistic. Why would anyone think that Arsenal doesn’t deserve Allegri? Besides we should not forget that the Italian league doesn’t pay high wages like EPL. Allegri has proved everything with Juventus and the Italian league and it seems he now wants a new challenge. The English league is currently the collection of the top football managers to wit Klopp, Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte and Wenger who is going. Allegri might also want to test himself against the best and why not?

      1. Great little tit-bit I heard about Klopp. He calls his pressing of defenders high up pitch, he calls the system …the best play-maker in the world]. Ya know the way we all call it defending from the front, that’s not the way he sees it, he sees it as attacking without the ball to force the team into giving them an opening whilst players are out of position ..except for your own players. It goes to show you how people do indeed think differently. And he has a point, if it wasn’t for balls breaking loose near the opponents last third, where would Liverpool be in the table. Would they be in a CL final without those loose balls breaking, I don’t think they would.

Teams need to get their defenders practicing some loop balls/lobbed balls over the first line of attack, with a couple of midfielders positioned along with strikers knowing where to run and expecting the ball. You do that properly, and you disarm Klopp’s team and create opportunism at the same time.

  6. Allegri will like to test England job because he has been announcing since last two seasons that he is learning English that will enable him take over long serving manager Wenger, so I think will come to Emirate if arsenal go for, bet me he will think twice to work with arsenal board, but I think what will be problem is transfer budget if he can get £300 to buy players this coming summer bet me EPL and Euoupa is ours.

  7. We haven’t got him yet! I really hope we do though as I will be devastated if on the day of the unveiling Mikel Arteta walks out onto the pitch!!!!

    1. Arteta could be a revelation like Zidane at Madrid, Simeone at Atletico and Guardiola at Barcelona

If he does become the next manager, we have to support him

Even the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson failed for six years before getting his first Premier League trophy

      1. Arrest wasn’t half the player or leader of any of the players you mentioned
        Ridiculous comment

      2. Wasn’t that keen on him as a player if I’m honest. I don’t think he’s worshiped by the Arsenal fans like Zidane is by Real Madrid fans or Pep by Barcelona fans!
If the powers that be give him the job then as always I will support my team, but I will be very disappointed

        1. Sue I’ll go one further if Arteta is the choice i won’t be spending a penny again
It would show a complete lack of ambition from the club
Henry and Vieraa have more about them

          1. I can name a few former players I would love to see as the manager… but Arteta wasn’t one of them!!
I do agree with you John… we’ll have to wait and see if Ivan has his way or not

      3. If we go for an ex player then Vieira is at the top of my list. At least he would unite the fanbase (until the first defeat at least…).

    2. What has Mikel Arteta learned
after 2 seasons of taking notes
on the bench at Man Sheiky?
He would have learned that his team already had
an experienced core of title winning players.
Yaya Toure, Kompany, Otamendi, Fernandinho, David Silva, Aguero
and young stars like KDB, Stones + Stirling.
Then they buy Walker and Mende for 50 mill each. Gundogan 30mill.
A new keeper for 30 mill another CB Laporte 36m
Brilliant attacking flair with Sane, 46m Jesus 36m and Bernado. 36m
Pep is already saying he must strengthen majorly next season
So all Arteta has to do is have Kroenke part with a mere 500 mill
and its Arsenal all the way to the top again.
      Mikel Arteta. Lol.

  8. He will not even be leaving Juve, let alone go to Chelsea who would be sure favorites over us anyway. He has said publicly he has unfinished business at Juve, wants to win the Champs league with them and has been promised funds to rebuild his team. I’d love him to come to us if we can’t get Jardim but don’t think it will happen. I’d put money on it.

  9. Can someone explain to me why Allegri would want to come to Arsenal? he is playing for a big club, he will play CL football and has an organization and fan base with a winning mentality.

Would he really want to give that all up and come to Arsenal with no CL football, no funds to refinance the much-needed overhaul and no winning mentality in the squad?

There is only downside for him. I don’t see him coming. Would love for him to sign up but think we have to be realistic.

Jardim would be the best mix of experience and he would have upside by joining us. Monaco is a smaller club and the PL a much bigger league.

    1. some managers like to challenge themselves and dont like to get too comfortable. I think there is a real chance if he gets certain guarentees from the board, like transfer budget.

      1. you know our board and owner. He will not get the transfer budget needed to turn us around in one or two seasons.

  10. The is a coach who is in a job and write about him as if he is available. While getting our hopes up about a man who is very likely to be in same job next season, others site are writing about arsenal related event like our under 23 winning or EPL, playing against Porto in a certain final and two of their coaches getting suspended by arsenal.

  11. “but just imagine how good we could be if the likes of Ozil and Wilshere were operating at full potential every week.”

Doubt Allegri will put with either of them for over one season honestly. And have to go back to when Jack was a teenager to see him operating at full potential.

  12. David Rusa why are you flying off the handle.
    i just expressed my opinion.
your opinion of allegri coming is clearly from the media.
    don’t be brainwashed so easily.
learn to look behind all the hype…

    read.think.form an opinion.

otherwise go write rumours for the metro.

  13. Allegri is the Man, Naingolan, koulibaly, McGuire and isco/nzonzi should be quickly signed afterwards

  14. It seems many of us were excited beyond belief when we saw Allegris name on our list of possibles. For me he should be a shoe in, the outstanding candidate and we should move Heaven and Earth to get him. It is the not knowing that makes this so worrying. I personally think that WERE WE to make him thre offer we SHOULD, then he would come. The lure of England , London and Arsenal is huge. But champion managers- and he is exactly that – are entitled to expect an outstanding package , both in salary and in spending plus supreme control. Sadly, I don’t see the latter two of these happening with the present regime. What is esp worrying is that it appears that there are two or even three pwer brokers now inour club , all with differing opinions on our next manager. If it is Arteta , I will feel like kicking the cat. BUT I WOULD FAR RATHER KICK KROENKE!

    1. Jon Fox,
You are so right regarding moving heaven and earth, otherwise we could be in limbo until after the world cup, with both managerial and player appointments.
Enriques dead and buried, my first choice by the way. and at the moment, this man Allegri’s keeps appearing as the top name.
I just find it difficult not to believe that the “power brokers” (not sure how many there are!!) did not agree on a list of candidates, in order of preference, before the previous manager has moved out!
Of course, we might all have eggs on our faces if, as soon as the last game is over, the new incumbent is announced.
I find it so frustrating that, after all the bitterness our fanbase has gone through, we still have to hope that Kroenke stumps up the money!!!
What a ridiculous position for our club to be in.

  15. most manager these days would want a guarantee form the board that sufficient financial backing is sufficient before taking on the job…..

It would be suicide for Allegri if he takes the job not knowing what presented to him

  16. I really don’t hope it will be Arteta, and I don’t think he is first choice anyway. If he were first choice, then there is no reason he couldn’t be announced already. City are already champions and our season is also over in reality. So announcing him could be done, and nor do I think it would take long to strike a deal with him, as I am sure, he would jump at the chance.
Juventus aren’t quite champions yet, so it could be a disruption for them if Allegri announced his departure now. So there is a real possibility, we are working on him.
But it could also be a bit of a puzzle. Conte looks like being sacked. Who will get his job, and where will he go? It makes for some manager rotation, and Arsenal may not be first choice for the very top managers, unfortunately.

    1. Your thinking about Arteta makes perfect sense. I had not thought of it in that way til now so you have easily convinced me that you are right. I just never thought the club would be so stupid as to appoint a novice and after your reassuring comment, I am even more sure. I pray that we are just waiting for Juventus’s season to finish before announcing Allegi as our new manager. He blows all other choices right out of the water, at least in my opinion.

  17. I don’t think Max will bring instant success because I very much doubt he will leave Juve anytime soon. He’s at a terrific club with a history of winning – all he is lacking is the C.L. Why go to Arsenal? Why go anywhere’

    1. To answer your pertinent questions, how about this: He has just won four consective domestic doubles. New challenges usually appeal to men of his standing. England and London life itself is a huge draw to millions, so why not Allegri too! He would be assured of proper time at Arsenal, unlike many clubs, and definitely not at Chelsea, to get his ideas and methods over. He woukld come with huge fan goodwill and he is coming to a world famous and worldwide admired club, enhanced enormously the world over under Wenger, as even I – a Wenger out man for the last decade – freely admit. All good reasons to accept the job here if it is (or even has been already) offered.

  18. The earlier the better for the board to do something better to get Allgri.
Kudus to everyone for there comment so far. C. Ronaldo left EPL & went Laliga and he achieve is dream, Allgri as already said he want new challenge which mean door to Arsenal is open. I want all the board & Fan to support him if t
Allgri come also to put more fund for transfer for him. If probability the man didn’t win any trophy for the first season, I believe things will change in another season .
