Why Swansea are more confident than Arsenal

Although Arsenal have only lost one single game in the League this season, the fans are expecting a very difficult encounter away at Swansea tomorrow evening. The Gunners have struggled to win games which was epitomised by Tuesday’s farcical draw with Anderlecht and we can expect more defensive blunders tomorrow.

Swansea are just two points behind Arsenal at the moment, but their home form can hardly be bettered by any team except Chelsea. They have had one 1-0 defeat (to Southampton) but five wins and a draw from the rest, including five clean sheets. No wonder their manager Garry Monk is much more relaxed than Arsene Wenger.

“Of course, when you look at the table you’d say we must be doing something right,” said Monk in the the South Wales Evening Post. “The team are on track in terms of where I want them to be. They are progressing nicely and taking on a lot of information.

“They are trying to put that into action and at this moment they are performing at a very good level.

“They are very much together — we have been very much a team in every performance we’ve had.

“We’ve played some great football, scored some very good, well-worked goals which have been very much in the style we have become accustomed to at Swansea City.

“We have also kept five clean sheets in 10 games which is very pleasing.

“We have had a good mixture in terms of attacking and defending, but we still have a long way to go in terms of where we are trying to get to. The players are adapting very quickly so hopefully there will be more to come.”

Don’t Arsenal fans wish we could have our own manager talking with such confidence? Obviously the expectations are lower at Swansea than Arsenal, but they are a great example of how teams can improve with very little investment, and if Wenger isn’t careful the Swans could leapfrog over Arsenal in the Premership table tomorrow…

Brainlessfart AW. Completely agree. You are very intelligent. Best comment of the month. Joel Campbell is our best player. Better than Sanchez. Free Joel Campbell.

@ Brada I am with you bro,Free Arsenal from Wenger. It s a strange world,Wenger is trying to please The british federation by nurturing average britishs players in detriment of the benefit of Arsenal and is hated in answer, watch the referees. In the other hand Mourhino does not give a poo about the english players and the referees give to chelsea all the times the decisions.
For the sake of Arsenal hurry the day Wenger is booted off his post.

Can you think of an Arsenal with Sanchez, Walcott, Danny, Mesut, Ramsey, Koscielny, Szczesny in form? We will fcuk everyone.

Any one wants to wager? I say we will achieve more than the R16 in UCL. We will make it to the quarterfinal. Anyone? The loser has to make “I am an Idiot” as his profile pic.

      I am in
Every player on their top form will still not be better than real Madrid Bayern Munich Barcelona starting 11
Cause that’s who we are going to f##king face

    2. GOONSTER

Giroud for Danny. Danny is a 15 minute player, after 15 minutes of each game he just disappears and all he does is run, close down, lose passes, he just does not give much as a striker, we down talk Giroud but he gives us more than danny, he will work hard, assist, score sometimes and bring this team mates into play… Welbeck has got the worst link up play ever, his first touch is so bad, whenever the ball gets to him we know it won’t stick and that means he will be chasing down the ball due to his poor first touch.

Stop acting like a motherfckr and wager instead of name calling.

And what us it with cricket? Cnut don’t you know it’s a football forum. MF.

We’ll probably hit form in January. That’s how Arsenal seasons work. Half awful, half great.

  4. Demwan Jones

They are more confident because they know that arsene might play monreal as the goalkeeper and play sanchez at right back

  5. Adienl

    Lucky CHELSHIT.
    2nd goal shouldn’t have happened.
    Penalty denied to Liverpool.
Then this mourinho says referees are against them.
    Fixed games. Chelsea suck.

when somethings goes your way, guess everything does. It looks that way towards Chelsea. and that Hazard, doing stepovers etc just waiting for someone to foul him. *sigh* ok I am done removing my frustration

        1. Darwin

I am not saying the game was fixed, but Costa hit on Skrtle, penalty decisions and many fouls not carded. I might be picking on minor things but sometimes big games are decided on such small details. Chelsea getting away with many things. maybe I am being biased. but thats my observation.

          1. RSH

Penalty was missed by overall the referee was fine (surprised Taylor can ref a decent match). Liverpool sucked anyways and didnt deserve a point. Some days you are lucky other days you are not. Didnt Chelsea not get a penalty call against Man United a few weeks ago, and they dropped points?

    1. Adienl

Yeah with referees on their side they just edged it out against Liverpool.
But they are very well organised and great at defending, I’ll give them that.
However a draw was a fair result.
Lucky CHELSHIT played with 12 men on the pitch

  6. GOONSTER

Liverpool bought a donkey in Mario Balo, they just seem to be playing no striker with him on the pitch, no link up, poor passing, no effort, can’t score, can’t assist. lol

  7. Twig

Liverpool robbed. That was a clear penalty. Johnson kept annoying me. He would beat a player but refuse to pass or cross. Why do players do that? 🙁

    1. GOONSTER

I was so annoyed with Johnson too, he is such a poor RB, where the hell was he when Coutinho was covering him at RB, Johnson was in the middle of the pitch, a RB in the middle of the pitch?wow..

I don’t know how managers keep playing him..

  8. GOONSTER

If Wenger plays Monreal as a CB against Swansea then I will know that he has lost it….Play Chambers there even if he is a red card waiting to happen due to his rush challenges..

Play Bellerin at RB and then we will go from there.. Monreal is so unconfortable in his LB position and now playing him at CB is just being stupid..

  9. HA559

Last weekend get a penalty because two players collided together.
This weekend no penalty against them when Cahill made a great save.

That’s arguably 4 points given to them from the referee.

Mourinho complained about not getting a goal v Maribor, Costa one that was given offside yet he doesn’t know that Sporting Lisbon should’ve had a penalty against them in matchday 2, and on matchday 1 Chelsea goal came becuase they won the ball with a foul, of which was two passes later, Fabregas scored.

  10. fred cowardly

Wenger said he rates Costa highly and he also said last week that Chelsea can match the invincibles because football hasn’t changed in 10 years.

It’s really annoying when he says this as he is kind of admitting his stupidity. Why not get a top striker like Costa? Why not try to build a team that can match the invincibles?

  11. Justsoccerfan

Btw we should thanks those help Chelsea win, hope they beat all that fight with us for the 4th trophy.

  12. Dennis

We need a new philosophy and thus we need a new manager. Our manager has been exposed by mourinho since 04-05, the blueprint is out there for anyone who has a semi-decent team to beat us when it counts and this is why we cannot win against the big teams anymore.

There’s an abundance of new coaches out there but the obvious one (klopp) is not my #1 even though he’s a media/fan favorite to replace the prof. I actually think he’s much like wenger in that he plays one style of football and isn’t flexible which is why dortmund are in shambles at the moment. I would prefer a man manager like diego simeone, the man is a true general at the touchlines giving orders all game long. Lastly what i like about simeone is that he makes average players look like superstars.
