Will Arsenal score their 1000th goal – And Cech keep a 200th clean sheet!

It was back in the middle of December when Arsenal last had a clean sheet in the League, and that was Petr Cech’s 199th Premier League clean sheet, against lowly Newcastle United, but after Davis Ospina got yet another clean sheet on Thursday in Milan Cech, will be hoping that the Gunners will be in the mood to help him make that record tomorrow.

It would be good timing, especially if Arsenal can also reach their target of their 1000th Premier League goal as well. And if they reach BOTH those targets it will mean that Arsenal have finally got another EPL win again!

Of course it was in the game against Watford earlier this season when Troy Deeney remarked afterwards that Arsenal ‘had no cojones’ so that is a good enough motivation for the Gunners to want to get their revenge, and Wenger responded with: “We come back to criticism – there’s only one way to respond to it,” Wenger said. “But first I’d like to say that on the day, they got a cheap penalty and so we were not just a bit unlucky.

“Secondly, there’s always only one way to respond to these kinds of statements and that’s with the quality of our performance. Our motivation has to come from within the group and show how much we want it.”

The group displayed their togetherness at last on Thursday, and let’s hope they are just as imperious tomorrow afternoon, and prove Deeney completely wrong…..

  1. Lovely guy is Cech but he’s cost us points
    I heard he’s not saved a pen since 1983 .
    It was cold day ….

OT. Watched that Liverpool united game .
Mourinho coached them . They played to a game plan.
    Liverpool never got going
None of holy trio scoring .

Having a proper coach is so important .
    It’s vital

    1. I agree that we need a proper coach but it would be like selling our soul to the devil to accept Mourinho at Arsenal.

  2. This article, although informative, forgot to mention the number of premier league goals Arsenal have currently scored so we can work out the probability of how long it could possibly take to reach 1000 goals.

      1. Hallo, hallo, hallo. What’s been going on here then? Why don’t Arsenal fans know we have scored exactly 999 goals in Prem? Come along with me to the station , my lad!

  3. well utd game has shown that the ref, lines men and commentators are bias

    pretty sure the pundits tooo

  4. hope that tomorrow the players show that the game against Milan was no fluke. we need to get going in the league too. = gooner for ever

  5. I still hope for a crushing defeat to oust Wenger asap. We are going to finish 6th whatever happens so why not use the game to help pressure the board to do their duty and sack him?

    1. No John, we should always hope for a win. I’m with you 100% and want AW out. It’s so sad when a dire hard fan like you wants us to lose, this is how desperate us fans have become, we know it’s out of our hands. My god I hope those in power have the balls to make us great again.

      1. Billy, I much respect your view and in a way I wish I could share it. But I so detest what Wenger has done, for so long, and still does to our club that I am obsessed above all else with his removal. I am older and have seen the damage one renegade employeee can do to any large organisation in life. I remember one man, Nick Leeson , bringing down Barings bank, one of the oldest banks in the world, by his fraudulent trading . He ended up in prison and it was national news back in the 1990’s. BARINGS WAS WORTH MANY TIMES ARSENALS FINANCIAL WORTH YET STILL HE BROUGHT IT DOWN. WENGER IS DOING THE SAME TO US. I SEE IT VERY CLEARLY AND VERY SOON IT WILL BECOME OBVIOUS EVEN TO KROENKE. I care far more for the long term good health of our club and its future then I do about a relatively meaningless game against Watford and between two mid-table teams, only one of which is honestly owned and run. WE FANS HAVE TO LOOK AFTER THE MAIN CHANCE, NOT MERE TEMPORARY FRIPPERIES.

        1. Sorry Jon, although I agree with much of your argument, like Billy I always want the Arsenal to win despite the manager or board.

  6. Cech should NEVER be allowed to pull an Arsenal shirt again. We let him infiltrate, and destroy us from within, and Wenger just sits back and does nothing! Apparently Wenger loves Arsenal though! Maybe it’s the kind of domestic abuse love, where you beat your partner to a pulp, and then claim to love them after every incident.

    Cech out!
    Wenger out!
Mugabe out…wait, that’s finally happened! We’re getting somewhere!!!

    1. Brilliant analogy and very apt! Wenger IS like an abusive husband and father who claims to love his family but abuses them. But they now want out of this relationship and this time and they(us) will turf this weirdo out on his ear, unloved, unlamented and with great joy. I am counting the days til he is sacked. It is as short as days now , I really believe. IF I SAID IN PUBLIC WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO HAPPEN TO HIM, I WOULD BE IN PRISON NOW.

      1. I take issue with you making your point by stereotyping men as abusers. Be more broadminded. MGTOW.

        1. I DID NO SUCH THING, you silly person! I talked about ONE abusive husband, not all malekind. And I have no idea what your acronym stands for either. Do grow up and join the real world! Are you brave enough to answer by using your own real name, as I always do when I say something, and not hide behind a car makers name.

          1. First off, you are stereotyping. Be aware of it and stop it. Next, if you want to know what MGTOW means, google it. Finally, I also feel that Wenger has past his sell by date but for you to say that what you think should happen, if known by the general public, you would be in prison for goes a long way to show how infantile you are. Seriously, what has Wenger done so wrong that would warrant a prison sentence? You make one embarrassing statement after another. You’re better off shutting the feck up.

  7. I can’t believe we are now languishing 6th and this has happened slowly but, surely, from certified champions league qualifiers.Time to give our young stars some game time
