Will Benik Afobe come back to bite Arsenal’s bum!

The Arsenal oldboy Benik Afobe was scoring for fun when he was a youngster and started out by scoring 40 goals for the Arsenal U16’s and 20 goals for the Gunners U18 side. He was signed up on professional terms at 17 and he then started out on a succession of loans away from the club in the lower Leagues.

He really came back to our attention three seasons ago when he scored 10 League goals for the MK Dons and a well-noticed brace against Man United in the League Cup. The next season Arsenal surprisingly sold him to Wolves in the Championship and continued his scoring feats, until just a year later Wolves made a blinding profit by selling him on to Bournemouth, but he has hardly been prolific in the Premier League.

This season he has scored precisely zero so far, but could he up his game in today’s match at the Emirates? He is feeling good right now and believes that his new team could cause a surprise this afternoon. In the official Bournemouth FC website, he said: “In the last couple of weeks the training sessions have been really good. The manager is happy with the attitude of the lads and the way we’re training, but the key thing is that we now take that into games.

“We’re going to Arsenal looking for a result. There won’t be any nerves. We’re ready to put in a performance for our fans and this football club.

“We’ve worked on tactics and systems this week and the manager wants us to go out there and express ourselves. We want to move the ball quickly and press.”

Arsenal are yet to win in Nasty November and really need to get back to winning ways today, but can a confident Bournemouth and a determined Afobe put a dent in our title hopes?
