Wilshere to play again for Arsenal this week

The day we have all been waiting for takes a step closer to becoming reality this week. Arsenal have arranged an under-21 friendly fixture with London rivals Chelsea which will be played behind closed doors tomorrow.

The idea is to give out talented young midfielder Jack Wilshere as much of a full game as possible to continue with his sharpening up. It will be Wilshere’s third competitive outing since recovering from his recurring ankle problem, picked up in a pre-season friendly against the New York Red Bulls last summer.

Hopefully this game will put Jack on the brink of a first team appearance if it all goes according to plan. Arsene Wenger does not want to rush him, but Wilshere is straining at the leash, and could even be on the bench for the game against Norwich on Saturday.

It is more likely that Wilshere could see some action next Wednesday when Schalke come to the Emirates for matchday three in the Champions League. Failing that, there is another reserve match next Monday against Everton.

Bacary Sagna and Emmanuel Frimpong will join Wilshere for the game tomorrow. The French right back is thought to be almost ready to play again and will be keen to regain his starting place from the vastly improved Carl Jenkinson. Sagna and Frimpong the destroyer could both be in the squad that travels to Norwich on Saturday. Premier league beware!

Great. more firepower in midfield. much more competition in right back position. I really think jenkinson should continue playing. he’s been excellent. sagna will have to work hard. be warned sagna.

I think if we sell Chamakh, Bendtner, Arshavin (although i want him to stay) we could save a lot on wages. Our midfield looks really strong with Rosicky and Diaby also set to return in couple of weeks. I think signing a Striker is necessary, the only area where we are lagging behind.

I just hope Wenger doesn’t jump the gun, and that Wilshere doesn’t try too hard to impress, because I’d rather see him in January fully fit ready for the second half of the season, than rush him back in 2 weeks and causing another injury. It would just kill his spirit. We have plenty of cover in the centre just now, Rambo is stepping up and gaining confidence, so he can hold the fort for a while, Diaby will be back soon for another 3 games too ;)

Oh yes! Jackie, Baky and Frimpong back!
Whatever happens, Frimpong needs to play against Manure at Theather of Cheat, coz we could do with Van Pus*y’s leg break! I wish he gets hardly FRIMPONGED!

Wow we have about 3 different world class combinations available in the midfield… What are the odds of us not winning a trophy this season

    @rkr
we wont save anything by selling bendtner as juventus pay all his wages. but if we could get anything for him chamakh arshavin squillaci denilson park fabianski and even walcott (who like fabianski arshavin and squillaci will be able to sign a pre contract in january) it will be a bonus.

Wow, when everyone is back fit, I can think of 2 amazing teams, with No. 1 for top teams and No. 2 for teams in bottom half of the table and Capital One Cup.

    #1:
    GK: Sczeseny
    LB: Gibbs
    CB: BFG, Verminator/Bosscielny
    RB: Jenkinson

Midfield: Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla (A midfield where top teams cry for their mommies!)

    LW: Poldi
    CF: Giroud
    RW: Walcott/Gervinho (Prefer Gervinho)

    2nd team, real good too.

    GK: Mannone
    LB: Santos
    CB: Miquel, Bosscielny/Verminator
    RB: Sagna or maybe Bellerin

    Midfield:

FRIMPONG!!!, Ramsey, Arshavin/Eisfeld (Another midfield to be feared when on form. Esp da Frimpong!)

LW: Miyaichi (WENGER CALL HIM BACK, HE’S WASTING TIME IN WIGAN) or Gnabry
CF: Akpom or Chamakh (Prefer Akpom in lower-stakes games)
    RW: Walcott/DA OX

We have a great squad with great depth! Surely we can challenge for the Premier League Crown!!!! Cazorla to be best signing of the season!!!!!

great news and all but walcott is out, thanks to the international “break”. he’s finishing has improved and we need him as an attacking option, which we are lacking.

Jenkinson has played good for seven games, Sagna has been world class every season! Nuff said.

lets hope for less injury plagued season then previous years, one of the reasons arsenal have not won a trophy for 7 years

To all those sayin Jenkinson should continue to play, have it at the back/front/side/middle, wherever suitable that there’s what they call fatigue and complacency. In other words, should we keep playing Jenkinson he could get fatigued or become complacent in a match that could cost us a lot, which we could have easily won. IMO we should use both to have a healthy competition in that case both will continue to improve. I think same should be applied to all positions

like i said previously do not rush Wilshere introduce him slowly in Nov….

Jenkinson needs to play regularly to improve…..he has only played 6 league games which is not enough….
