Tottenham may have beaten Arsenal convincingly last week to keep their hope of winning the Premier League alive, but surprise, surprise they blew it last night by losing their next London derby against West Ham last night to practically hand Chelsea the title.
They may have managed to cancel St Totteringham’s Day this season, but the fact is that Sp*rs are still going to end this campaign without a trophy as usual, while Arsenal are still in with a real chance of winning their third FA Cup in four years. Jamie Redknapp believes that the Spuds fans would rather be in Arsenal’s position. “It’s that killer-instinct that Tottenham have got to find,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“If you go through the season, the Europa League against Gent was not good enough.
“The game against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. When it matters and that’s always the Achilles heel for Spurs, even when I was there years ago.
“Have they got that mentality? The only way of changing that is winning a trophy.
“The irony would be if Arsenal win the FA Cup and Spurs finish second.
“What would you rather have? That’s what Spurs fans will be really worried about now.”
Arsenal fans have always been banging on about the Top Four being a Wenger Trophy, but I am sure we would prefer to actually win a real trophy like the FA Cup, than finish just below the top in the League every season.
