Would this possible Arsenal team bring Premier League glory?

Arsenal are being linked with a number of transfer targets at present so we thought we’d take a keen look at how we could be lining up for the coming campaign.

Kylian Mbappe is the man everyone is talking about, and he will almost certainly give us a huge boost going into the new season should we manage to beat our rivals to his signature, and at present, we appear to be winning the race.

One player we have already concluded a deal for is Sean Kolasinac, which will likely see him take up a place opposite Bellerin down the flanks as wing-backs, with Arsene Wenger insisting that we will be continuing our use of the newly favoured 3-4-2-1 system.

Arda Turan is a name that is also strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, and he could share the role in behind Kylian Mbappe with Mesut Ozil, although I’m hoping his signing would not assure an exit for one of Alexis or Mesut.

Two more players have made it into my possible XI, with Leon Goretzke and Jack Butland currently on our wishlist supposedly. The midfielder would likely be viewed as a long-term replacement for Santi Cazorla, while those central roles would be shared between the Ox, Ramsey, Xhaka and one of Elneny and Coquelin.

Petr Cech left many questions unanswered after a number of below par displays last term, including embarrassing showings against Chelsea, and Butland is tipped as his possible replacement.

Would this XI be formidable against anything that our rivals could muster against us?

Would these inclusions make us the team to be feared in the division?

  1. we r not getting mbbape. n turan gonna win us pl? he was a bench warmer in at. madrid n barca offcourse. we need someone younger watch conf cup n julian brandt that guy is a gem.we need him

  2. That’s a strong team but, Butland not coming this season, maybe next, Alexis Will leave, turan not a target, and are we after goretzke?

  3. No Buttland and no Turan. Goretzke/Mbappe will be good, and may be bringing Mbappe will make Alexis stay! I would still like the club to keep Ramsey and Ox

  4. Maybe one thing though if we spending si much on one player, Mbappe, we likely ain’t getting much else!
If we have 165m pounds as the rumour would suggest there would be better ways to spend it. With the quotation for Mbappe you could bring 2 world class players and have spare.
In my opinion we could raise a further 50-55m if we sell the players that have been given enough chances to have a large sample size concluding that they are simply not good enough.
    1) We need a top striker, somebody that has it all enough that we wouldn’t waste a sub to alter our style of play from a passing, counter attacking style to crosses and long balls. And above all else is clinical: Aubameyang (70m)
    2) A top right winger. I love Walcott but I’ve also had enough for is lack of consistency and one dimensional play. Mahrez (35m) would be great. He will create for himself and others and can be a triple threat going forward. He can weave is way past defenders and just do so much that he brings a lot of tactical versatility.
With those 2 there would be much less pressure on Özil to have 20+ assists and Sanchez a 30G & 15A for us to be contenders.
    3) Cazorla likely out until at least December but we know how bad Arsenal have been in prognosis. Wilshere we don’t even know if he still has a career here. Also we can all agree that Coquelin & Elneny aren’t top midfielders because of there lack of ability to do much more: not enough skills. Danilo (40m) at Porto offers so much more compare to those 2. For Cazorla & Wilshere well you have Goretzka or Lemar both for a quoted price of (30-40m) would make the grade. I’m providing bith defensive and attacking more rounded midlfielder depending on what Wenger deems a priority.
Finally if the defenders that have to go, go and taking into account Kos achille injury issues that can only get worse with time and age a replacement would be necessary. I wouldn’t make the same mistake in not looking at premiere league defender who know the schedule and are experienced with thw physicality and speed od the game. I would go with Van Djik (50m) for many reasons: on the ball composed and impeccable, strong in the air, can play dm too, leadership skills, score goals, pace for his height and power.
This for me would look like a good overall and smart spending likely convincing Özil and Sanchez of staying and extending. A great overhaul that would confirm the change of approach talk and bring this club that I love so much it hurts & frustrates at times with the underwhelming seasons get back into contention for good.

    1. Spending on Mbappe is a long term outlay, we have to understand a 100m Mbappe will mean 50M this year upfront and each year 10M for 5 years for example, so essentially we are not emptying our transfer kitty with one player. If he sustains the level, we will make profit off his image rights and shirt sells to recoup the 10M each year anyway. Spending 120M-130M this year on 3 players, with 50M future commitments[adds 20M in wages easily], and keeping Alexis/Ozil/Ox/Ramsey with higher wages[adds 20M more in wages], we have to free the dead wood and create space to manage this extra wage bill. Sell Perez/Ospina/Debuchy/Wilshere, loan Jenkinson, Per/Elneny can be standby sells if we have replacements. They, along with Per/Santi going next year, will make our wage bill sustainable.

  5. Not a bad lineup considering the transfer rumours but I would Swap Turan for Ozil. But To be honest, I wouldn’t want Turan at Arsenal lol.

The latest reports are suggesting that Wenger is willing to sell the Ox to a PL rival, for as little as £25 million ?? that’s bare jokes! ? ? maybe that has something to do with the Ox liking a “wengerOut” post on Twitter a few months ago? ?

  6. My preference, with AS sadly being sold.

    Lacazette
    Lemar…Ozil
    Kolasanic…Xhaka..Seri(Goretska)…Bellerin
    Nacho…Boss..Holding
    Cech

With the recouped transfer fees of Alexis, Giroud, Perez, Ospina, Jack W, Schez, Jenkinson, Debuchy and possibly Ox the additions of Lemar, Seri (Goretska) and Lacazette would essentially be covered. Wenger could even add another CB if Mustafi and Gabriel aren’t perceived as long term solutions.

  7. Forget Turan, he is too old a tad for me…Afraid he may become Carzola like…great when healthy but never healthy…

    Team i want for next season…System – 3.3.1.3
    —-Alexis—–Mbappe—-Lacazette/Morata
    ————–Ozil/Ramsey/Isco————————-
    Kolasinac————Xhaka———–Ox-Chaberlain
    ———Holding—Konsienly—-Mustafi————-
    —————————Cech—————————–
This would have team in the EPL and Champions league appealing to FIFA and UEFA to avoid playing us…We would top 100 goals a season…In January we go shopping for Kosienly and Cech replacements.

  8. Where is Ronaldo gonna slot in then?

Think we may need to appeal to the FA so we can play 22 players at the same time if all the transfer rumours come off!

  9. Pls wenger instead of spending 135m on mbappe why not go get belotti for 65m to support sanchez then get Turan, berkley and Roma Greek defender monolos then sell walcut, perez, gibs, iwobi coguelin jekinson geroud all for 70m…I blive wit these players we ar go to match any team

    1. I am all for Belloti. Guy is a beast and still young at 24. He can join the build up, hold up play, score with both feet and head. He’s physically built for the premier league. I’ll be sad if we don’t make a move for him.

  10. Makes me smile you not having ozil in the team. World Cup next year so why leave. Ozil not having the best season was down to AW simple. Jan he should have spent money even to replace SC. TW what’s up with him not in the team? Until he said how it was when we lost to Crystal Palace he had a good season one of his best. Sorry AW shits on players. No old Arsenal players in the back room staff is mindless. Get MK back as defence coach and get a number 2 in place to take over from AW simple

  11. I actually like the line up, except for turan, we would need someone younger if we are looking at a future squad. In reality Mbappe too high of a price tag, Butland probably not coming this season or not at all, Gortzeka would be an upgrade on ramsay(really has a good engine), but do not see schalke selling 2 players to us. Probably looking at Lemar , Laca and a young promising signing, not really what i would want but i would be satisfied. I know we are waiting for various decisions to be made, but the longer we wait plan B and C will no longer exist so there most be some timeline set by arsenal

  12. I really like Mbappe and think he is the real deal however if we do sign him (unlikely), I doubt there will be too much other activity. Our strong end to the season somewhat papered over other cracks in our squad. I think we need the following:
CB- e.g. Manolas (close to signing for Zenit for £30m)/Tah (Think we will be priced out of the race for Van Dijk)
RB (if we play a back 4)- Karsdorp
    CM- e.g. Goretzka/Danilo Pereira
    ST- Aubameyang
If we play a back 4 then another winger like Lemar would be needed.
I think we should sell Szczesny (use Martinez as number 2), Ospina, Debuchy, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Coquelin, Ramsey (a few good performances do not hide seasons of poor performances and injuries), Wilshere, Walcott, Perez and Giroud.
I like Perez, Ospina and Giroud but they all seem like they want to leave.
Gabriel and Chambers should be given one more season to prove themselves whilst also promoting Reiss Nelson to the senior squad.

    1. Sadly the majority of Gunners that frequent this board, as well as our $8M a year Head Dictator genuinely believe that Arsenal can win the EPL title with the likes of Ramsey, Wheelchair, Theo and Giroud frequenting our starting 11. I honestly rate Giroud the most because he actually spends more time on the pitch than the treatment table.

If you take an honest look @ the current Arsenal team, are any of these players good enough to consistently feature in the first 11.

      Giroud
      Theo
      Jack W
      Gabriel
      Coquelin
      Jenkinson
      El Neny
      Debuchy
      Chambers

Sans maybe loaning out CC, I would sell all of them in addition to Schez, Perez and Ospina who deserve to pursue greener pastures.

But Arsene and the majority of Gunners fan will continue to the embrace the inevitable status quo of mediocrity.

  13. I Think Lacazette Will Be A Good Signing He Is Cheaper Than Mbappe And I Think We Should Also Go For Mahrez

  14. Yes, I really like that teams chances. Not sure if any of the links to them is true but even if they were, we are dreaming if we think we’ll get all of our first/top choice targets. Sack Wenger, bring in Pat J.

  15. Looks a really good squad, a nice blend of youth and experience. I would prefer Ozil to Turan who thought we were not good enough for him last year while he warmed the bench at Barca. If we sign Mbappe (a big if) maybe Sanchez and Ozil will stay. I don’t know much about Goretzka but if he has made the German national squad that speaks for itself.

I don’t think it’s good enough to win the PL because other teams will also strengthen, perhaps the following year once they gel.

  16. In a nutshell……….No !. That team wouldn’t guarantee us any more success than we’re experiencing now. We can all put together our fantasy sides but at the end of the day, that’s all they are…..a fantasy.

Unfortunately, the Premier and Champions leagues are real !
