Wow It’s all happening at Arsenal – Leno confirmed at last

Things have certainly changed at Arsenal this summer. When Arsene Wenger was in charge he totally refused to confirm or deny any transfer rumours and and players that he was targeting were forbidden from mentioning anything about the deal until the contracts were signed, and even then it wouldn’t actually be confirmed on Arsenal.com until Wenger decided if it was the right time to unveil the player in public.

But now, we have all known for sure that Arsenal were trying to sign Bernd Leno, and they have even put a series of tweets on social media making it clear the Leno is now a Gunner….

That is quite clear! Even the player himself took to Twitter to tell us in English that he has now signed…

We have a new keeper! Welcome to Arsenal, Bernd……

  1. Bernd Leno, welcome come to Arsenal. I hope you will keep more clean sheets and take us some steps forward.

  2. Welcome Leno???
I think Russia will win the world cup! ??? Then during celebrations Putin may mistake a nuclear ⚛ missile for fireworks ?, then end the world, before we get to witness Emery’s arsenal play ???

  3. It’s so nice that now the club don’t have to deal with all the internal politics and turmoil that the club seems to have a very clear vision on what the squad needs and seem to be going for it.

The most pleasing thing so far has been that media just don’t know how to react. Whereas before they would put nonsense out there and people would believe it because of all the bad stuff going on at the club – now gibberish like the made up £50m no. was put out there, picked up for a bit and proven unreliable.

I’m very optimistic. It does seem that we are going for development type players mixed in with shorter term experienced players but I think that’s not a bad thing as we have a long transposition to go through to undo all the damage done by a certain someone.

  4. New way of doing things. Not waiting till the last hours.
If it was like this, Lemar could have been our player last season.

  5. Terrible signing. Am afraid the troublesome goalkeeping issue will remain for next season. I could be wrong, in fact I hope I am, but we will see. Nonetheless, congratulations to the board for taking the initiative and being proactive in making their signings. It appears gone are the days of last minute panic buys. Great mentality by the management, good work board, Sven, Raul. At least we are moving in the right direction.

    1. Totally agree this keeper is a accident waiting to happen makes numerous errors and will cost us a lot of points don’t know why fans are excited about this so new look arsenal we have signed a veteran defender and a calamity keeper so no idea what all the excitement is about won’t make top 4 be lucky to finish in the top 6. We moved stadium so we could become one of the biggest clubs in the world and financially compete with everyone this just hasn’t happened in fact we have gone backwards at a rapid pace and just become a laughing stock of football!!

      1. Serious Dan why are you so negative, just remember nothing is guaranteed, you can pay 50 or 15 it doesn’t mean that the player who cost you 50 will be a success, there are plenty examples of this happening in the premier league, we are at least trying to rectify the mess we were left with.

      2. Dan, Yes in fact we are certain to finish rock bottom with zero points, since all the old players and all the new signings are rubbish. Plus the new regime are all rubbish. There! HAPPY NOW?

    2. I totally get where you coming from, you also need to remember that the Wenger era has passed and we’re doing things differently now

    3. I believe the people who brought him to the club know his strength and weaknesses. They’ll work on them.Let’s all appreciate our new signing. All of the are of Epl standard according to me

  6. Is this guy good, read reports that he regressed last year and was dropped from the German national team. Heard Alban lafonte is joining Crystal palace.
Can someone update us on Leno stats , I’m not too convinced, find him on the same level at chek and ospina

  7. I honestly have no idea, how good Leno is.
But I certainly appreciate, that we finally seem to have a clear focus on strengthening in the areas, where we have been lacking for years; defense and defensive midfield.

  8. Arsenal should have completed a
    total overhaul 5 years ago.
    Walcott Chamberlain Wilshere
    Gibbs Jenkinson Mertz Kos Cazorla
Diarby Rosicky Giroud Arteta Flamini Ospina.
should have all gone years ago.
    Wellbeck Perez Gabriel Debuchi Chambers
Mustafi Xhaka and Sanogo should never have been signed.
Ramsey Mkhi and Elneny are average plodders.
Ozil is 30 this year Monreal 32 Cech is 36.
By 2020 we will be where we should have been in 2014.
More dead wood off the books (but should have gone many years ago)
A 34 yr old RB a decent GK and a solid 30 yr old CB.
A midget DM and a marquee attacker perhaps.
A reasonable window but so much more to do.

  9. I think the only people not happy with the signingsfg are Wenger sympathizers ??? who are unhappy that arsenal is progressing without Wenger. I’m even Wenger will be happy to see arsenal progress, so let go off the past and support the present and be positive … Despite the probability of Putin ending the world by pressing the nuclear ⚛ bomb button instead of the fireworks ? button during celebrations after Russia will have won the trophy ???

    1. I’m a staunch wenger supporter and I’m incredibly happy with the new signings. At the end of the day if youre an ARSENAL fan you’ll be excited and support the team as you’ll want your team to win everything regardless of the situation the club is in. Those who are not happy with our signings, not excited for the new season and wanted arsenal to lose games when wenger was in charge just so he would leave are not true fans. Just my humble opinion.

      1. I am a 60 year attending fan, of Wengers age and wanted him gone for ten years past. A SEASON TICKET HOLDER FOR MOST OF THOSE YEARS and I wanted us to lose to force him out. We, the vast majority who wanted him gone at all costs, are “not true fans” according to your childish remark. Get a life and get real, pal! You claim that to be a “humble opinion”. I WOULD ASK YOU EXACTLY WHAT IS “HUMBLE” ABOUT TELLING OTHER FANS THEY ARE “NOT TRUE FANS”? THAT IS ARROGANCE, NOT HUMILITY.

  10. people are just terrible.. many of same people said Xhaka was class When we wanted to sign him… lichtsteiner too Old, torreira too short, now Leno too prone to error perhaps arsenal should have signed u

    1. Substitute any other collective noun for the word “ARSENAL” and you would see how assinine that comment is. It is ignorant and extreme to ever judge any large number people as a group.(ie. “Arsenal fans”) You will learn that once you leave childhood behind. I seriously doubt YOU will even understand my comment.
