Zagreb doping scandal will not help Arsenal

So it seems that one of the Dinamo Zagreb players, Arijan Ademi, has failed a doping test after the tie with Arsenal in Croatia, although it will not be fully confirmed until UEFA have studied his B sample before any punishment can be applied.

Dinamo released this statement yesterday on learning of the failure. “We are aware of the results of the doping control test after the match of the Champions League first round against Arsenal and that our player, Arijan Ademi, was positive, and that Uefa opened proceedings against him.

“According to Uefa rules, Dinamo cannot comment on the case until the B sample is given. Our players have been regularly subjected to doping controls for years after European and league games, and never has anything like this ever happened, so that we have to say that we are surprised by this result.

“Arijan Ademi was tested six times in the last year and each time the report was negative.”

Arsenal lost the game 2-1 after Olivier Giroud was sent off, but the bad news is that if the player is found guilty he will probably be given a suspension and fine, but there is absolutely no chance of the Croatian Champions being docked points or the game being replayed. It is considered to be an individual transgression and not the fault of the club…..

Pathetic!!(Not the article, I’ve actually learnt a lot from it)
It is so pathetic that it has come to a point where we were hopping a doping case is the only way to get us points from the mediocre Zagreb..very pathetic!! 🙁 🙁
Just play and score and get it over with 🙁 🙁
    Pathetic I repeat 🙁 🙁 🙁

To be fair, last year Celtic for extra goal difference when the player in the opposing team was positive for doping

Who was hoping for a replay? We lost because we played badly not because one inconsequential player doped.

yeah its not like the Dope assisted the player to do a Usain Bolt sprint form defence to score a brilliant goal that burst a hole into the net…
There’s no freebies in football, to get the points you must win the games..

Now, serious question: If it was one of the guys who scored or assisted, would things be different?

By the way, its just stating the news and the article isn’t asking about any rematch or cheat happening with Arsenal… Duhh… some guys here!!!!!!

i re-ask……. What’s the significance and relevance of the Article?……… What’s the motive behind it?

Soopa – Are you taking over Haywill’s Conspiracy Theorys?
What motive. It’s news. It’s about Arsenal. This site is called JustArsenal, so we’re going to report it?
Jeez you are going to tell me I’m trying to get Sepp Blatter re-instated next!

LMFAO!………. Have we stooped so Low to depend on Dope test on a certain unknown zagreb player for our survival?……what is even the point of this article?……. I pray he comes back negative…. reality would hit us to know zagreb beat us hands down (that day)…..right now we should be thinking of our double Bayern encounter….and how to make amends!

    1. Budd

The article does not say that. Are you blind? It even goes on to say it’s not going to happen. Wtf is wrong with you?

  6. Uzi Ozil

I don’t think the writer of the article wants a replay. He just pointed out the doping case and He knows a replay is not gonna happen and Dinamo point won’t be reduced….Let’s move on already. We can still qualify from the group but its either we qualify or we just focus on the league totally. I’m not in for playing on Thursday Night and then weekend…

@Budd………..are u as well Lost?……… I’m not against the article……. I’m only stating how irrelevant it is for us to even be talking bout a dope test concerning a player who isn’t even arsenal related!……. The ideology behind this article seems to be “ahh..its possible the whole team was doped and that’s why we Lost” …..but seriously, i’m not buying any of it…… Tho we are the SUPERIOR team……They won convincingly….. And we should accept the fact and move on gallantly!…….this is not News…… The real News was that we gifted zagreb a win/record on english soil (something the haven’t achieved in ages)…. Do u buy that?

    1. G-Rude

@SoOpa AeoN You could start a fight in a plastic bag! For starters Zagreb DID NOT win on English soil.
Secondly they did NOT win convincingly. Olivier Giroud got sent off in the first half if you remember.
It may well be reported widely in Croatia but I think you find t reported in every single British paper as well.
In case you didn’t notice he failed a drug test after playing Arsenal, so how can you say its not Arsenal related.

      Are you serious?

    3. Budd

English soil? Do you really read what you write? I am sure you have absolutely no clue what teams are in the UCL group with Arsenal. Probably you know about Bayern because we are always drawn against them but that’s about it.

  9. SoOpa AeoN

its pointless telling u i meant to say “against an english team” not “english soil” …….. Carry on the acclaimed fight urself!

    1. Budd

Is admin fault that is using this platform not allowing you to edit your post in the next hour after the posting. Probably you meant that but probably you didn’t. I believe is the later as no one can actually mistake soil with team. Not even the spell checker.
