Zaha may improve at Arsenal says Gunners legend

The Crystal Palace frontman Wilfreid Zaha may have been touted as a possible replacement for Alexis Sanchez when the Chilean leaves the Emirates at the end of the season, but there is a lot of doubt amongst Arsenal fans as to whether he is just a cheap(?) option or if he could possibly improve enough and start increasing his goal tally.

Last season he managed 7 goals in 35 appearances for Palace but he did help out with 9 assists as well, but when you consider that the whole Palace team only scored 50 in the whole campaign, there is a real chance that these figures could improve considerably if he was playing for a top attacking side like Arsenal. Ray Parlour is hopeful, but not certain, that the 25 could do a job for the Gunners. “He’s a player that can run at you, he’s got great pace,” Parlour said.

“He’s probably lacking a little bit of goals, he gets in some great positions and maybe his end product is not as good as it should be.

“But I think it will improve and in a better team you might get more out of him.

“Alexis Sanchez, you’re going to be losing 25 goals a season. That’s the big problem Arsenal have, how do you replace that?

“Whether Zaha will be the man, I don’t think he scores as many goals as he should do because he gets in some really good areas.

“But certainly if you can get the best out of him, Zaha, he’s very dangerous on his day.

“He can change a game for you, like he has done in recent weeks for Palace.”

So Parlour doesn’t sound as pessimistic as most Arsenal fans seem to be about the Ivory Coast international, so maybe he could be a good buy after all. One thing worth mentioning is that Zaha has scored twice this season in just five starts, whereas Alexis has only got one from six!!

  1. See him as very simular to the ox. Pace and dribbling. Not much finishing. We need some stars man. Thomas lemar please. And a goal scoring CAM to replace ozil. And a decent manager to replace wenger. We have a good strong squad at the moment. And player for player in too for most of the team would make it into another too 4 squad. You made a mistake mr wenger lets not dig our selves further into the sh!t hole we are already in.

  2. Yes Zaha is the man.
    For 13 years Arsenal has
existed in a non title wilderness.
    Since 2004 Mourinho Ferguson
    Ancelotti Ferguson again Mancini
Ferguson again Pelegrini Mou again Ranieri + Conte
have all tasted victory in the league.
Meanwhile Arsenal owner manager and players
have been paid vast salaries to cruise in 4th place mode.
Now with the rise of the oil country backed teams
like Man City it is nigh impossible to win titles.
Arsenal actually had a decent top X1 last season
Cech Bellerin Monreal Mustafi 30m Koz
Xhaka 30m Ramsey Walcott Giroud Ozil 42m Sanchez 36 m
    Yet we finished 5th.
This season we have added Kolasinac and 50 mill Lacazette
yet in early Nov and Arsenal are out of the title race already.
Even with Varane Ramos Ronaldo Casimiro Ali Ronaldo Neymar and Messi
Arsenal would not win the league.
But William Zaha will drive us to multiple
PL and ECL victories these next ten years.
    Yes of course he will…

    1. Well we have enough teo, welbeck, ox, gibbs, apkom, belerin all pace no brains, failed project, add zaha to that, company to the welback on the treatment table.
We need clinical finishers British or continental players, Nebil would fit the bill
