10+ Arsenal targets in N. Ireland’s way to avoid France tie

Northern Ireland will need to leap-frog Poland and/or Germany in Group C tonight, or will more than likely face France in the first knock-out round of the tournament.

The Green and White Army take on the World champions tonight in Paris, where a win will see them assure of a place in the top two of the European Championships. A draw or worse will see them stuck in third place, which will give see them play one of the group winners.

The only way in which Norn Iron can avoid France in the next round by finishing third, would be with the teams from groups B, C, E and F ending up as the best placed thirds, with Wales becoming their next opponents. Any other combination of the four qualifiers from the six would see Northern Ireland out of the competition, or against the hosts.

There are a number of players linked with Arsenal who are in line to feature for both Poland and Germany tonight, but you will struggle to watch both games live.

Poland trio Arkadiusz Milik, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Karol Linetty have all been linked with a potential switch to the Emirates in recent seasons, with the former the most recent target. The forward enjoyed an impressive season with Ajax, and at 22 years-old could prove to be a sound investment.

N. Ireland’s opponents tonight will have seven potential Arsenal targets in their side, with Jerome Boateng, Mario Gotze, Leroy Sane, Julian Draxler, Mats Hummels, Benedikt Howedes and Julian Weigl all hoping to feature in the final group game tonight.

Wenger recently talked up Draxler’s talent in an interview, and he has even been claimed to be considering an exit this summer.

Which of the above targets would you want at Arsenal? Who has performed the better in tonight’s encounters?

  1. Germany, France, Italy and England will be in the same half of the draw.
Spain (if 1st) will have a easy route to the final on paper.

  2. 52 minutes gone Ozil should’ve had 3 assists already in this game. Goetze, Muller and Gomez missed them.

  3. That McGovern sure is the Guvnor, between the sticks!
If it wasn’t for him, N. Ireland’s Goals against would have been in double figures by now.
