Arsenal star defends Unai Emery despite Gunners’ disastrous form

According to France 24, Alexandre Lacazette has defender under-fire Arsenal boss Unai Emery despite the club’s disappointing form recently.

The Gunners started the season strongly but have since slipped and it seems as though the north London outfit are no longer a serious contender for a spot in the Premier League’s top four.

Emery’s side are winless in their last four league games, we’ve slipped to sixth in the league and rivals Manchester United are now hot on our tracks.

Here’s what Lacazette had to say on Emery and the team’s current form:

“Last season when we were unbeaten in 20 games in a row nobody said anything about the coach or manager,”

“We miss confidence and we need the international break.”

“I hope we are going to come back well. We want to be top four, of course.”

“Now we are nine points behind Chelsea and Leicester and it is going to be hard, but everything is possible in football.”

We really have the chance to make up some ground on our rivals after the international break. Our next two league games are against relegation candidates Southampton and Norwich.

These games are a must-win for us right now, we could perhaps capitalise on other team slipping up if we can start to build some momentum heading into the hectic December and Christmas period.

  1. Yes, Lacazette

Everything is possible in football, including the possibility of me becoming a Gunner next month

You work hard on your dribbling, add a bit to your defensive game and get better with your crosses, I’m sure you got a shot at it dude… I’m rooting for ya. 👍🏿

  2. I hope so, that before January ending we will be in the Top 4. While Man U and Tottenham including Chelsea faulted and lag behind us

  3. Emery is not the man to bring us to where we belong. Sack him now. The timing is right. Get in a new manager. the way the team plays, the slow midfield. Not knowing his best formation, no tempo in our game. The problems with this team are glaring. Emery cannot fix it

  4. “……Our next two league games are against relegation candidates Southampton and Norwich.

These games are a must-win for us right now”

Each time I read this or stuff like: “these are winnable games”, I know such games turn out to be like playing Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

  5. I mentioned it countless times over the summer that we should have gone for a player like Thomas Partey. 45m pounds would have been enough to get him. That was the steel we needed. Emery should have also kept Ramsey. We are paying for it now. Imagine a midfield 3 of Thomas, Ramsey and Torres. High energy. High pressing. Ramsey with the forward runs. Our present midfield is weak. No aggression, slow midfield. Who wins things with Guendouzi in midfield. Guy is too slow. He is still raw. Still has a long way to go in terms of consistently producing at the top level. For the players We have, Emery does not know how to utilise them. He is not good enough. Things will get worse. For now, I would move Chambers into Midfield. And stick to a 433 formation. Emery should be clear. Play a 433. Midfield 3 of Torrera, Ozil and Chambers.front 3 of Aubameyang, Martinelli and Pepe. Lacazette as an impact sub. The team needs a psychologist. They need to start believing again. But Emery is just not the right man to manage the team. It is clear. He should be sacked.

  6. Interesting comments from a player who has still yet to commit himself to the new contract.

Perhaps it also throws some doubt regarding UE losing the players, no reason for lacs to come out and say this.

  7. We must start playing our games pace and forward passes and stick with it every game. It is the only way we can move forward. We have the players who can do that and they should play progressive one-touch football.

  8. Last week apparently Lacca was slagging Emery off and thumbing a tweet to sack Emery because he was crap. Come on all this crab is there to try a catch the gullible and stir the hornets nest.
