An open letter to Alexis Sanchez – from a concerned Arsenal fan

An open letter to Alexis Sanchez By Sylvester Kwentua

Dear Alexis,
It is with mixed feelings that I am writing this letter to you, even though I just have to write it. How are you coping at Arsenal, especially in this trying period of our club? Hope you are gradually adjusting to the possibility of ending another season in Arsenal, trophyless? Well, I believe you are a professional player and should know how to handle success and failure, professionally. Well, my first purpose of writing you this letter is to bear my mind on what I think concerning your footballing life at Arsenal.

I remember me boasting to my friends, when you came to Arsenal a few seasons ago, that with you, I was so confident of beating any team that came our way! Even the almighty Barcelona was not going to be a threat to us, as far as we had you in our team. I was so sure of your impact being felt in Arsenal because I had followed you, right from when you were a player at Udinese, to Barcelona and down to Arsenal. Thank you for choosing to come to Arsenal, even though you had the choice to go to a bigger club. Once again, I say thank you.

The only trophy you won at Arsenal was the FA cup in the 2014-2015 season! I remember the final of that game against Aston Villa; I remember the sweet, classical goal you scored in the game, oh, how I wish to watch that clip over and over again! I remember all the great goals you have scored at Arsenal (especially the one you scored against Chelsea earlier this season). I enjoy all the Messi-like dribbles you have been entertaining us with, with your portable body stature, you breeze past defenders like a Ferrari on fire! Your skills are just unique and at times it makes me wonder if being born in South America meant you automatically become a skillful footballer. Thank you for the breath-taking football you display while playing for us. Thank you for your extra charged energy on the football pitch; thank you for trying to be the only Arsenal player with a real drive for victory.

Now, my second reason for writing you this letter is to try and see if I can appeal to you, to consider the love Arsenal fans have for you and sign the new contract Arsenal football club is offering, at least even if it is just for two more years, instead of four years! Mr. Sanchez, I believe at the end of this season, we will witness a volcanic change in Arsenal and this may involve the sacking of the coach and some players, who were never meant to be Arsenal players at the first place. I just ask for two more years of you, so that you can be a part of the new Arsenal to emerge next season. I wish to see you captain this team to win a major trophy before you leave; I wish to see you get rewarded for all the hard work you have invested being an Arsenal player; I wish to witness you win the UEFA Champions league as an Arsenal player (yes, we can!); Finally, I wish you will end your career as an Arsenal player with several champion’s medal in your cupboard.

Dear Sanchez, would I be asking for too much if I should appeal to you to sign a new contract, not because the club wants you to, but because fans like me, want you to? I wish you will listen to my plea but if you decide you have had enough of Arsenal and wish to go to another club at the end of this season, I respect your decision. But whatever your decision is at the end of the season, I still want to say a big thank you for ever playing for Arsenal. We love you Sanchez

    1. It is Alexis or no other for me !! i don’t see a reason why we don’t buy Mbappe and Rabiot to support him… but we all know the STORY.. (we can’t compete with the top spenders or we are still watching them develop or they are not Arsenal quality ) whereas we keeping watching Ramsey,Walcott, iwobi, coqueline perform WOEFULLY week in week out and at the end of the day marid, Chelsea, barca, man utd will come for them and get them and Mr Wenger will come out to say we tried to sign them but we could.. what a shame ! that is what the greedy American has turned our beloved club to.. We are now a JOKE everywhere… But never the less I AM A GUNNER FOR EVER !!

    2. @Twig
If your Mb -APPE and you know it… clap your hands ??
I would be Happy with Mbappe replacing Sanchez.??

      Regarding the article:
1000’s of Chileans marched for Sanchez to leave Arsenal and if you think that one sorry ass open letter will swing it in your favour then you are seriously pasted your bed time son ?
Sanchez is gone, get over it!

  1. Sanchez – “Who the F is Sylvester Kwentua, and why is he writing me letters?”
Delusional fans. There’s no loyalty in football (or any other sports) anymore. Not from the club, not from the players. It’s all about money these days. So as much as I love Alexis, and his passion and hunger for the game, I also realize that he’s going to do what’s best for him. And yes, it doesn’t necessarily mean challenging for trophies. It also means a huge payday. So Arsenal better pony up the cash, or we’re going to lose him to someone who’s willing to pay the going rate, and it’s probably around 250k /week, if not more.

  2. lov ya alexi, but if you leave, bye… lets not drag it out like RvP, you were brought here from the bench of barcelona, we put you back on the pitch, but you are not bigger than the club,
