A look at La Liga star set to solve Arsenal’s DM problem

The fact that this La Liga defensive midfielder has a buyout clause at his club, Sevilla, means that there is little that can stand in the way of Arsenal being able to sign him in January, other than competition from other clubs. But with the amount of that clause being nearly £25 million, according to a Metro report, the name of Grzegorz Krychowiak might make you wonder why Arsenal would bother.

Maybe it is because he is a Poland international and our keeper Wojciech Szczesny has pointed Arsene Wenger in his direction.

And the guy has some brilliant stats since joining Sevilla in the summer. He is their only player to have played every game and he has been Man of the Match in four of them, helping Sevilla to be level on points in the Spanish league with Barcelona and on top of their Europa League group. I assume that means he would not be cup tied in the Champions League as well.

So I thought I would use the Squawka.com comparison tool to see how he fared alongside another of our transfer targets for that position, Morgan Schneiderlin. The Southampton and France star has had a brilliant start to the season, but his 90 minute average overall score of 22.41 is well beaten by Krychowiak’s 29.39.

And the Saint’s score has been boosted by a few goals. The Pole’s defensive score of 23.14 compared to the Frenchman’s 0.24 is amazing and suggests that he would add some real steel to the centre of the Arsenal team. But Wenger does not want just a tackler and a spoiler, so his pass success rate of 80 percent is pretty good and he does create chances and join in with the attack., although not quite as much as Schneiderlin.

But surely the Gunners have enough creativity in the side, so what do you reckon to this Arsenal transfer rumour about Sevilla and Poland star Grzegorz Krychowiak?
