Agent confirms that Ospina is leaving Arsenal

There was always going to be one of Petr Cech or David Ospina leaving Arsenal this summer after the arrival of Bernd Leno, and Cech has already announced that he had turned down Napoli he was going to play out the last year of his contract with the Gunners.

Ospina was not saying anything, although it has been made clear that despite having an offer from Boca Juniors, he intended to stay in Europe to continue his career. Now his agent has stated that he could still go back to South America in a tweet…..

This is translated as…. David has a contract for two more years with Arsenal but there is a new keeper, so it can be a cycle completed and if there are no options in Europe, Boca is a great option because it is among the 10 largest teams in the world.

His agent also said that “The option of Boca had already played but now it is not easy for the economic or for a club like Boca to pay that much for a goalkeeper. He would like to go to Boca but this is not the time, we are focused on continuing in Europe. ”

So it looks like David will definitely be on his way, and probably to Turkey as he has been chased by Fenerbahce for quite a few seasons now. But it looks like Boca of Argentina will be his plan B (or C) if nothing comes about in Europe….

  1. Boca Juniors will be good for us. It may improve our relationship with them and make it alot easier to acquire Pavon.

    1. Yes, but Ospina’s performances fluctuated at Arsenal and Szczesny was an erratic GK in his last season with Arsenal

They are just the past, as what Wilshere, Walcott, Sanchez, Van Persie and Giroud

It is time to see the competition between Cech and Leno

  2. After sealing Torreira and Guendouzi it’ll be interesting to see who all are sold….
My bet is that Ospina , Mustafi , El neny will be shipped out… One of either Iwobi or welbeck might be loaned or sold… This’ll help us mobilize funds for a class winger

    1. LOL

      Remember Wenger’s excuses?

“We cannot buy unless we sell first”

Well Emery has proved that it was just lies from Wenger.

We can sell Ospina to Boca as a softener for Pavon brought to us!

      1. Other classics from Wenger were:

        “There’s nothing on the market”
        “I already have WC players”
“If a club does not want to sell, then we can cannot get the player”

              1. Team moral and confidence is the reason for most of that. Do you really believe that Arsene would say no to an extra 50m to 100m for team improvements?. Do you believe that Arsene wanted to chase after Arshavin, Ozil, Mbappe, & Martial with Gazidas and Law being so useless. Arsene doesn’t hire at executive level, of course they let him carry the can, and fair play to him he took it all and never complained once. What a character, there’s only one! Arsene Wenger ..for reals.

              2. And who can ever forget the arrogant “Look” at the start of his handing down his wisdom from on high to we mere plebs! Odd then that we plebs were far wiser than he was. But of course “we had never managed , even for 24 hours”; another gem of sheer arrogance. Even odder then , considering that virtually every football fan and Gooner world wide knew years ago that we desperately needed a quality CDM, BUT HE DID NOT. COS HE KNEW BEST! Now he is gone and I am fast running out of celebratory champange.

  3. Always liked and rated the Colombian, should
of logged more EPL minutes as Cech was languishing in net for the majority of the season.
Wish him well at his next club.

I wonder which of the following players will
be join Ospina in cleaning out there lockers @
the Emirates in the near future.

    Welbeck
    El Neny
    Mustafi
    Jenkinson
    Perez

Personally I would keep Perez, sell the rest and
offer LC £50M for Harry MaGuire. Dude has been
brilliant for club and country over the past year
would be a brilliant piece of business by AFC to further solidify there back line.

    1. I think Maguire would cost more than 50M, because he is still 25 years old

He misplaced many passes in his first World Cup matches, but he is very tall and strong

He could be a good towering CB Arsenal need, but I’d prefer Koulibaly or Yerry Mina for that kind of money

      1. Koulibaly would probably command nearly twice
what LC are supposedly asking for MaGuire and
Napoli have no reason to sell the Senegal star.

Mina, other than his set piece ability would
probably be exposed by the pace of the
        Premier League. Although technically
proficient he at times looked a touch off the
pace when placed in one on one situations.
WTS, definitely worth a punt though if Barca are
willing to sell for a reasonable price.

    2. I would love to have McGuire. He’sbeen quite consistent and would only get better hopefully. if it’s possible we could sign him. But seems unlikely. he’s still 25 years and would do well. we should look at signing him next summer if he maintains his form and does not leave Leicester this season.

  4. I will rather have Ospina rather having Cech , he made childish errors and costed Arsenal to be at Europa for two seasons . He didn’t want to join Napoli because he wants his family to be in London is not all about changing the clubs he’s talking rubbish . Ospuna has shown good qualities when given a chance special in Pl . Cech must leave. I wonder why he chose shirt number 1 he’s not young he has been wearing jersey number 1 he’s just foolish try to fool himself he’s finished . He must retire and leave young keepers to take us somewhere . He won everything it doesn’t bother him even if we loose .i wish the new manger branch him

    1. “He didn’t want to join Napoli because he wants his family to be in London is not all about changing the clubs he’s talking rubbish .” I guess you must know Cech personally then? Because I’m almost certain that no-one would make such a wild assumption based on literally no evidence and then state it as if it were fact. Or maybe I just need to lower my bar a little whilst reading the utter tripe written in the comment section on this blog.

      1. it’s not a crazy assumption though. One of the reason he joined Arsenal is because it kept him in London. He’s been living in the city since 04? 05? That’s almost 15 years and it’s where his kids have grown up. He has one more year left on his contract and maybe he didn’t want to move his family to another country. These are reasons why some players don’t move.

  5. Ospina is good enough to be No. 1 at another club so good to see him moving on for the sake of his career. Was a good cup keeper and was a good buy. With Leno now first choice, and Cech as No. 2 we should be good for this season.

      1. As a No 2. he’s not a bad option. No need to call me foolish just because I have a different opinion either.

        1. You option sucks . Cech is finished get it or go play with your dogs . Even the small kid Puckfird didn’t concede the goals Cech did . I’m getting irritated of you fool still want Cech to be Arsenal what did he win for Arsenal ? You ate in Europa twice because of him

  6. Arsenal official website has announced the signing of the 22-year-old defensive midfielder who has signed a long-term contract with his new club. Torreira is a Gunner

  7. Personally, I would be thrilled to lose both Ospina and Cech who are both not our standard. Cech is over the hill and Ospina never got beyond halfway up, being generous to him. We would need another second choice keeper before letting both go, so if we have to keep one I would keep Cech.

    1. What did Cech do for you personal as for me as an arsenal fan for so many years since he joined Arsenal there’s nothing good he did you fool . Where are you playing no now ? Europa , who’s the highest keeper who conceded many goals In Pl ? Cech , yay idiot I don’t want to say more it looks like you were watching another league not Arsenal . Fake fan you still want to keep him and have hopes for his childish errors costed us

      1. Yes, I am a fake fan and have been atteding matches for 60 years like all fake fans do. Your comment would be laughable, if it were not so pathetic. You did not even understand my post. It would help if English was your first language , which it clearly is NOT!
