Agent of Arsenal target has no idea what is happening with his client

Over the last 48 hours or so it has been reported that Arsenal were looking to hijack Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout proposed move to Napoli and today his agent has added a ton of confusion to the speculation.

The 26-year-old is being touted as a potential successor to Aaron Ramsey, however, it was thought that he was bound for Naples but with no deal actually confirmed it seems that Arsenal has made an eleventh-hour move to sign Veretout themselves.

Now, the player’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, has come out and really thrown a spanner into the works.

‘As far as I know, Fiorentina have not given the all-clear for Veretout to join Napoli,’ Giuffredi told Radio CRC.

‘The problem is they [Fiorentina] don’t currently have a director of sport, so I don’t know who to communicate with.

‘I also have no guarantees that Vincenzo Montella will remain as coach, it’s all up in the air after the club’s takeover [by Rocco Commisso].’

‘There are four or five important clubs who want Veretout, in Italy and abroad,’ he added.

‘I don’t like to name names, but we’ll see what happens and who steps forward to close the deal.

‘Jordan is one of the best in Europe. He has the quantity, quality and much more and he deserves a big club.’

So make of that what you will but reading between the lines one can make the assumption that a deal with Napoli is far from certain and that other clubs have made their move and with all the rumours flying around you can be forgiven for thinking one of those clubs is Arsenal.

At this moment it is pure guesswork and Giuffredi comments have hardly cleared the air but as things stand right now I cannot see any reason why we cannot consider Arsenal as a credible interested party.

  1. Arsenal looking to linger with the transfers till July, I don’t see us getting any deal done this June.
Not getting any player in will be suciadal so I expect some incomings and outgoings next month.

    1. They would wait for an opportunity to sign a popular player as usual, therefore we could see a last minute deal for a marquee signing

Probably they would sign a cheaper player like Carrasco first, just to keep the fans interested

      1. Signing/extending players to keep the fans interested is the worst thing a club can do. Remember when the club gave 350k a week to Ozil to appease the fans for losing Sanchez? How did that turn out?
I’d rather they sign no one than to sign a shit player hoping to extend as many season tickets as possible. Either do the right thing, or bugger off.
I do hope they manage to ship out at least 50% of our deadwood, even if it’s just Elneny and Jenkinson.

    2. It would not be before time the board need to get off their arse and get things moving

  2. His attacking stats are not good, but maybe he excels in intercepting, tackling, speed and stamina? Arsenal have been missing a powerful and pacy box-to-box CM since Vieira left

Vieira has never been replaced, because the CMs that came after him were tactical and technical ones such as Fabregas and Cazorla. The only CMs that could come close to Vieira’s domination in midfield was Diaby and Ramsey was never as dominant as them

The last time I watched Lega Calcio regularly was seventeen years ago, so I don’t know whether Praet or Veretout are as good as Pogba in Juventus or not. I just hope Arsenal scouts do not make another mistake as what they did with Xhaka purchase, because they have made too many wrong assessments already

  3. Xahka, Ozil , Mitk as well and if you look closely there is more I just wish they would get a move on and ship them out and start buying

  4. There is no harm in trying, if they are not good enough, we will change them as soon as possible

    1. Huh? Change them as soon as possible?
How can you say that with the unending trauma we are currently facing trying to ship out Elneny, Mustafi, Micki and the rest of them mediocre players kicking us in the groin..
