Alexis Sanchez and 7-goal Chile set up showdown with Ospina (plus video)

So for the second year in a row Arsenal are going to have a representative in the Copa America Final, but will it be our attacking genius Alexis Sanchez again, or will it be the rock-between-the-sticks David Ospina?

Alexis scored once and gave two assists in Chile’s 7-0 demolition of Mexico last night with Eduardo Vargas scoring four and Edson Puch (whohe?) got two to round off a memorable night for the defending Champions.

Check out all the goals from that rout here. Watch out for the 7th and last goal which was squeezed in from an impossible angle…

But I doubt that Chile will have such easy pickings against Colombia with Ospina in goal. He pulled off a man-of-the-match performance in the quarters against Peru, holding them back for two hours in the 0-0 draw and then pulling off a marvelous save with his feet in the penalty shoot-out. Arsenal’s reserve keeper will be relishing the chance to deny Alexis to repeat last summer’s Copa victory.

Other than the defeat to Costa Rica, when Colombia had already secured qualification for the knockout rounds, Osina’s team had won five in a row, and when they travelled to Chile last December they came away with a 1-1 draw in the World Cup Qualifying Group.

We could be in for a treat on Thursday morning!
