It is being reported that Arsene Wenger is planning to try once again to sign Raheem Sterling for Arsenal, when the winter transfer window opens up in January. I am not sure what makes the Frenchman think he will have any more luck in securing the transfer of the Man City and England international star though, because he tried the same move in the summer without any success.
It was all a part of the long running saga involving our Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez, who was reportedly set for a deadline day switch to play for Pep Guardiola at the Etihad and some sources claimed that the refusal of City to let Sterling go the opposite way was the reason for the transfer of Alexis not happening after all.
If that is the case then I can only think that the reason behind the Daily Mail reporting Wenger’s plan to go again for Sterling is that the boss is prepared to let the Chile international sign for our rivals and the Premier League pace setters.
That is not what Wenger or the Arsenal fans want but with the possibility of Sanchez going there anyway at the end of the season, and for no money may have left Wenger little choice. And if our striker does sign for Man City in January it would probably mean less playing time for Sterling, which could persuade him to move to north London.
I still have serious doubts about us getting Sterling, especially as he is in great form this season with 10 goals and two assists to his name, but if there is any chance does it mean that Arsenal will have to let Alexis Sanchez get the transfer to Man City he seems to want?

do i see sanchez starting for city in respect to benching sterling…impossible…guardiola might bench aguero for sanchez due to the latter’s workrate…but benching sterling or sane is unlikely…
Why would Wenger sign a player he himself confesses is a diver?
And why would Sterling want to sign and play for a manager who called him a diver, in the Europa league with no realistic chance of winning the league, with team mates who aren’t as good as the ones he plays with now
Why would they sterling cost city 49m and sanchez is free in the summer not like city aint gonna win the league without alexis this season so might as wait it out and have both….
There are several players I’d rather have than Sterling ie De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero, Otamendi, Gundogan, Jesus, Fernandinho and Sane
Sterling runs like he’s s**t himself. I certainly wouldn’t want him at Arsenal!!
For me Riess Nielson is almost exactly like Sterling, i don’t see the need for us to sign Sterling. We should give the kid a chance, Sell Walcott too, he’s had his chance its about time someone else came in and gave it a shot. If there is a player we should be signing it should be one that can come in and replace Ozil, strengthen the defense and midfield too, i like the Napoli midfielder we are being linked with, doubt we’ll get him though. Ozil is a luxury player we never really planned for. And by the way where is Jeff-rein Adelaide? Now thats some player we cannot afford to lose. Kid has potential.
