Another striker gets crossed off Arsenal fans wishlist

Arsenal may be looking for a top quality striker to sign this summer, but it doesn’t mean that the Gunners don’t have their eyes on some of Europe’s upcoming talents.

Fulham’s Moussa Dembele, not to be confused with Moussa Dembele from down White Hart Lane, was supposedly a young striker on Arsenal’s radar this summer. However it seems that Celtic have beaten the Gunners to it, with the Scottish club confirming that the 19 year old will become Brendan Rodgers’ first signing at the club.

Dembele was keen to leave Fulham this summer, after refusing to sign a new deal with the championship side. The young Frenchman was therefore out of contract and a free agent, although there will be some cost involved with Dembele falling short of transfer rulings for young players and development fee regulations.

Spurs were close to signing Dembele in January but a deal fell through at the last minute. The 19 year old striker was a top talent in the Championship last season and managed to score 17 goals in all competitions, despite playing for a Fulham side that were almost dragged into relegation.

Dembele offers a lot of promise for a young striker, but of course he isn’t exactly what Arsenal desperately need at this very moment. He could’ve been a good investment however and for a minimal fee, should Wenger have taken a punt on this young star?

  1. I’m so desperate for anotjer top quality forward that I would take any of following
    Aubmeyang
    Mkhitaryan
    Mahrez
    Higuain
    jannsen
    Lukaku
    Lacazette
    Islam
    Icardi
    Ibrahimovic
    Rodriguez
    gotze

    1. Or.. OR, we can get a top winger that can be moulded into a top CF *cough*Draxler*cough 🙂

  2. We have many young strikers in our acadamy, and Wenger clearly has them in mind: Akpom and Mavididi to name a few…

So any striker we sign must be top class and established!
Speaking of strikers. Spurs,Chelsea and C.Palace are all after Batshuayi..

Chelsea offered€ 40m, Palace 31m plus pound, dunno about Spurs..
My point is, like I said before, to get a top player, you pay top money imagine how much Palace is willing to pay for Batshuayi, even Chelsea…

ManU signed even a young defender for 30m plus, Mane cost liverpool 30m plus, that’s how crazy the market has become!

  3. Arsenal already has
    the most dynamic
    attack in the EPL.
    CRAX
    Campbell Ramsey Akpom Xhaka
    SWIGS
    Sanogo Wellbeck Iwobi Giroud Sanchez
    WACO
    Walcott Adelaid Cazorla Ozil

  4. I think Wenger has the right idea by going South American for a striker because that’s where the real talent is,I would much rather we hedge our bets on a young South American striker then going for these young european strikers!

  5. Off the subject a little but we`re in the business of try to find a striker. Choosing such a player from your armchair is difficult unless you`re a football freak and know the history of every bloke who can kick a ball. Well, to me, there`s one player whose very appearance suggests he`s a champion: the way he moves, his clinical look, his sparkling eyes (aye there`s the rub), born to win and he plays for Arsenal. Need I say his name?

  6. I don’t think anything has changed at Arsenal. It starts to look like deja vu.

One seemingly half ar5ed attempted at signing Vardy which failed; many other strikers linked to us but no one arriving, pre-season around the corner without our biggest need addressed and the pool of available talent shrinking slowly but surely.

I understand Nolito might not be too far from joining Pep.

Why oh why does it have to take sooo long to sign a top striker? Can we not for once be aggressive and conniving by moving with purpose for our target?

The absence of a striker having been signed makes it seem like we are doubting what to do and have no clue who we want to go for or are only making unrealistic low ball offers behind the scenes.

So fed up with this despite predicting we would not sign a top striker before pre-season training resumes.

  7. Will the waiting game pay of?
    Manu Ibrahimovic
    Real m Morata
    Greizmann stays( ath Madrid )
    Man city Nolito
Chelsea Diego Costa has no suitors they also need to get rid of remy

This leaves us realistically competing with juventus, PSG for
    Lacazette, higuin, lukaku
