Are Arsenal upping their game in bid to replace Alexis Sanchez?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is insisting that Alexis Sanchez is staying put, but a number of reports are claiming that we are making bids for possible replacements.

We are strongly linked with a deal to bring Thomas Lemar to the Emirates this summer, with the 21 year-old believed to be keen on making the switch, but his asking price by Monaco has so far proved problematic.

With the current issues over the above’s capture, we have since been claimed to have had bids turned down for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, and now we have apparently been knocked back in our attempt to prise Kingsley Coman away from Bayern Munich.

We are also said to have enquired about the availability of Juventus forward Juan Cuadrado, and have been stated an asking price, but we are most likely testing the water in case Alexis does push to leave the club this month.

The transfer window still has 27 days to run for a twist or two, and despite the claims by Arsene Wenger, many of us Arsenal fans are half-expecting the Chilean forward to seal a move away from the club, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain looking the most likely destinations.

The Neymar deal is likely to kick-start a frenzy of moves, and a return for Alexis has been mooted with a hole missing from their attack.

Sanchez has remained silent mostly, refusing to rule out an exit, but we have had plenty of comments from Wenger insisting that he is staying put, but unfortunately we have been there before with Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and many others.

Is our club preparing for his exit despite Wenger’s claims? How likely do you think it is that Sanchez stays beyond August 31?
