Arsenal are surely favourites to beat an injury-ridden Man United side

Arsenal are in the highly unusual position of having nearly a full squad of players to choose from ahead of our trip to Old Trafford, with just Alexandre Lacazette being our only confirmed first team player that will be unavailable due to an ankle injury.

We also had a great boost in midweek against Nottingham Forest, when Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin all made their comebacks in the 5-0 win. And there were many stellar performances from our youngsters who have also staked their claims for more game-time.

But Man United, on the other hand, have a glut of injuries to their first teamers and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to make up a makeshift side for the visit of the Gunners. He tried to play down the extent of the problem in an interview with MUTV, but he could not hide the truth. “Any injuries?” he said. “There might be one or two who have not really come back. Paul (Pogba) was really struggling with his ankle as it was really swollen, so let’s see how that repairs. He got 90 minutes but was sore towards the end again.

”Phil (Jones) will be out until after the international break and, do you know, you have to count these after every game but I think that’s it.”

That is not quite it Ole! He was then asked if both Martial and Rashford were also out of the game, and he replied: “Well, I wouldn’t put my life on it, no, but that’s part of this game,”
“You work with what you have and we’re looking forward to this game, of course.”
And then he also revealed that Luke Shaw was also unlikely to feature. “I don’t think we’ll see Anthony before the international break. No, I don’t think so. Luke (Shaw) is improving so, hopefully, we’ll see him.” he added.

But that is not all, as Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes are also injured, and the defenders Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah are also out, meaning that Arsenal will probably have their best chance for ages of finally coming away with three points from Old Trafford.

All we need now is for Emery to pick our very best team….
