Arsenal are back in talks to try and secure an agreement to sign Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, according to Ben Jacobs. The Gunners have identified the defender as one of the top players in the country to strengthen their defence, and the Englishman could be open to the move.
For several seasons, Konsa has been one of the most reliable centre-backs in the country and has played an important role in the success Aston Villa have achieved defensively. He helped them win the Europa League last season, and they will be looking to win more trophies this term, meaning they do not want to lose him.

However, Arsenal are pushing to sign Konsa and believe he is the calibre of player they need to add to their squad in this transfer window as they seek to improve their team. The Gunners remain confident about their chances of signing him, despite their first offer being rejected.
Jacobs says Arsenal have resumed talks in the last few hours as they continue their efforts to reach an agreement with Aston Villa. The renewed discussions suggest that the Gunners remain determined to bring the defender to the Emirates and are prepared to improve their proposal.

I think either is fine as they’re back ups until Saliba comes back and both are efficient enough. Konsa for me is first option as he started mire for England
Get either if then then we just need a gun striker or left winger and this would be deemed a great window.
Even without I think Tzolis will surprise a lot of people and teams if allowed to play his natural game and not end up passing it around. I hope he has bene bought to dribble and take on defenders like Saka does the other side.
The latest thing is Arsenal have stopped pursuing the 29 yo Konsa and started chasing the 23 yo Quansah. I pray the latest one succeeds!!! Good age, tall and fit for aerial balls and also can play in Ben White’s position beside his coming from a title winning liverpool team
Konsa is better as a defender though.
Main advantage with Quansah is he might hold his value.
Also creates an issue with Mosquera’s progression, but that’s a fairly minor one.
NOBODY holds their value when they join the Arsenal. We are terrible sellers of talent.
All this talk of us buying a covering defender for Saliba while he’s out.
I wonder if the club have considered loaning a covering defender for Saliba. Because let’s face it, when Saliba is fit the replacement will probably be benched. And if this were to be the case, then when his loan was up, he could then go back to his club, or pastures new.
Or even join us permanently, if that’s what both party’s were happy with.

No mate because if all were fit we probably sell White so only difference is they are buying a CB/RB now because we are without two of our first choice back 4

I have said before, we were slow off the mark for Araujo. Liverpool were on the ball.
Araujo is injury prone these days. There’s a reason Barca are loaning him.
He played most of last season. He had mental problems before, thats why he had time off but he seems to have sorted that. He was first choice last season, when they won the league. I think Liverpool have a great signing on loan.
A one season loan would work well with an option or commitment to buy – if the price is right – and agreed at the start of the loan.
