Arsenal boss tips inexperienced youngster to be ‘great’

Arsene Wenger has moved to claim that Krystian Bielik has all the right attributes to become a great player for Arsenal.

The Polish youngster joined from Legia Warsaw back in January 2015 shortly after his 17th birthday, and has gone onto make two appearances in the senior team thus far.

He has already been transitioned into a centre-back, having joined as a defensive midfielder, and has been one of the biggest talking points of our development squad since his arrival.

Arsene Wenger has now move to praise the progression of the defender, talking him up to be a ‘great player’ in the future.

He said: “The plan with him is to continue his development. He works with us a lot, with the first team.

“He has developed very well and for me he has all the attributes to be a great player.

“Now, he is not ready experience wise to play in our team, so hopefully I will consider the situation at the end of December to see if he can go out somewhere or whether we’ll keep him here until the end of the season.”

Competition for a centre-back role in the near future looks tough for the youngster, with Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny forming a formidable partnership currently, and with Calum Chambers and Rob Holding also doing well so far this term.

Wenger is considering sending Bielik out on loan for the second-half of the season, and that should give him the platform to showcase his true ability in the first-team, something that looks near impossible for him to do amidst the competition in North-London.

Is Chambers Middlesbrough loan putting him back in contention for a CB role at Arsenal? Are Holding and Bielik our future defensive pairing?
