Arsenal have been in talks with several of their players over new contracts, but the most important deal they can renew at the moment is that of Mikel Arteta, and the Gunners are working to secure his future.
The Spanish manager has been brilliant on the Arsenal bench, and both Arteta and the team have developed significantly since he became their manager at the end of 2019. The Gunners want him to remain in charge for a long time and continue leading the club at the highest level.
Arteta’s current contract expires in the summer of 2027, and although Arsenal allowed him to enter the new season with his deal approaching its final stages, there has never been much doubt that the club wanted to keep him.
The manager has also been keen to remain at Arsenal, creating the conditions for both parties to hold positive discussions over his future. Those talks appear to be progressing well, with an agreement now seemingly close.
Arsenal confident over Arteta’s future
According to Football365, Arsenal are confident they can keep Arteta and a new deal could be finalised soon. The Gunners and their Spanish manager are reportedly very close to reaching an agreement over every part of the contract.
That would provide further stability for a team that has continued to improve under Arteta. The club’s progress has made the manager increasingly important to their long-term plans, and keeping him would allow Arsenal to maintain the direction they have established.
Arteta has developed a strong relationship with the club and remains fully committed to the project. There is little indication that he is considering a departure, while Arsenal have equally little reason to look elsewhere.

Arteta and Arsenal on same path
Both parties appear to be moving in the same direction, with Arteta happy at the Emirates and Arsenal determined to continue working with him. The manager’s commitment is another positive sign as negotiations approach their conclusion.
Arsenal also do not see a need to make a change in the dugout, particularly with the team now performing at a top level. Arteta has played a major role in that progress and remains central to the club’s ambitions.
A new agreement would therefore be a significant development for Arsenal. Rather than entering the coming seasons with uncertainty surrounding their manager, the Gunners could soon have Arteta committed to the club for the long term.
For Arsenal, securing his future would be one of the most important pieces of business they can complete, ensuring the manager who has overseen their growth remains in charge as they continue to challenge at the highest level.

Good news. Arteta is “a Winner”
Very dedicated to his task and has the winning instinct that rubs off on the players. He has now proven his worth and can try to bring Arsenal up to the very highest level. Arteta’s style of play with the players this season is already worth seeing. I think Arsenal should do everything to hold on to him and build on the project he is working on.
Though still a little green around the ears with his man management skills, he deserves that piss pot loads of money.
He promised the board domestic and European dominance in his final phase and he has delivered
Has he been “successful” yet after all those disgraceful second place finishes and so many mistakes and imperfections? 🤦♂️
You are right, Arteta will never win the Premier League.
🤣Joe
Bruised Banana
How dare Arteta finish second, even when being cheated out of first!!!😱
Don’t forget the 8th place finishes as well
I guess that’s still a no.
I have a feeling he will move to Barca when Flicks calls it a day in June 2028 if not renewed.
Hopefully we can convince Fabrigas to come back if need be.
You may be right. I would be fascinated to know what his true thoughts would be about such a possibility.
MA is an enigma for me.
There are so many excellent points about the last eight years along with fewer negative points that make me still hesitant to claim he’s the best thing since sliced bread.
There is no doubt in my mind that he’s determined to do what Arsene strived for but never quite achieved and to quote Le Prof
“My aim is simple – to make Arsenal not just the best in the Premiership, but the biggest and best club in the world.”
With the complete support of the owner, he’s well on the way to doing that and, like Arsene, he should be rewarded financially.
I would hesitate to give him more than a three year contract however, as I remember quite clearly his statement that we would win the CL in three years time after becoming manager.
I wouldn’t swap him for any other manager simply because he’s Arsenal through and through, just wish his off field decisions were more consistent with “The Arsenal Way” of doing things.
There are very few elite managers and it interesting watching how some of them evolve.
Wenger wasn’t the greatest player and likewise Mourinho. Guardiola did both. Watching the premier league, winning the top prize is different from domestic or lower European competitions. It’s a statement.
We should be singing from the rooftops rather than undermining what has been achieved. Arteta’s only managerial role has been to take Arsenal up from where it was heading and produce what many will never do, regardless of the wealth of the club they manage.
