When Arsenal opened the Emirates 20 years ago, it was one of England’s most modern grounds. The Gunners invested heavily in building the stadium, and it has remained among the best grounds in the Premier League.
The club have found significant success in recent seasons, both on and off the pitch, as they continue to build towards becoming a commercial powerhouse in the game. Their progress on the field has helped them attract commercial opportunities and strengthen the club away from football.
Thanks to their on-field progress and success over the years, Arsenal have secured several good commercial deals and remain determined to continue improving every part of the club. That ambition also extends to their home stadium, which they want to ensure remains an impressive environment for supporters and players.
For several months, there have been talks about expanding the Emirates further, but even more importantly, the ground needs some renovation. Arsenal are aware of this and have been working as hard as possible to make improvements happen.
Arsenal Continue Work on the Emirates
Football London reports that plans are well underway to improve the Emirates and give it an even better look. The work is part of the club’s wider efforts to continue developing the stadium despite its relatively young age.
At 20 years old, the Emirates is still newer than most stadiums in England, but Arsenal want to keep improving it. The club’s renovation plans are already well underway, showing their determination to ensure the stadium continues to meet their ambitions.
The improvements could help maintain the Emirates as an important part of the club’s identity while Arsenal continue to develop away from the pitch. The stadium remains a major asset, and the club are looking to maximise its potential.

Arsenal Want the Best Environment for the Team
While the club works on improving the Emirates, they are also supporting the playing group to ensure the team continues to perform well and win trophies. The development of the stadium is therefore part of a wider effort to strengthen the club.
The players will continue to do their best on the pitch, while Arsenal aim to create the best possible environment for them. With renovation plans progressing, the Gunners are looking to ensure their home remains capable of matching the club’s ambitions for the future.
The Emirates has already served Arsenal for two decades, and the latest plans demonstrate that the club want to continue improving it rather than simply relying on what has already been achieved.

So how many extra seats?
By all accounts around 20,000 .
Ken.
If they can get it passed by the London Borough of Islington. They still have Corbyn to help, so fingers crossed for them.
Ken1945, You say 20,000 seats,
and Jax mentions Jeremy Corbin. Well being an MP, he does know a thing or two about seats. 😂🤣
Be great for red members
Or have even more Season Ticket holders.
But how do 20K extra people get squeezed in without the beautiful symmetrical architecture of the ground changing shape and looking odd?
This is yet another example of how our owner, Mr Kronkie, is investing and supporting The Arsenal.
Let’s not forget that extensive improvements have already taken place as recently as two season’s ago and at a reported cost of over £2,000,000.
As for the architecture, I would rather have 20,000 more Gooners in the ground and,as much as I loved Highbury we needed to leave that iconic building to progress.
I never went to Highbury, but seen it in Fever Pitch film, and it looks fab.
“My mum said she heard on the radio that that Alan Smith-“
“Look, Harris – we are in class, you are here to learn English Literature, not be constantly distracted and obsessed by football, or you will never learn anything.”
“Yes, Sir, sorry Sir.”
“I want everyone to turn to page 56… … …quickly – what was that about Smith?”
Seems it’s not going to happen. From what I understand they’re just going to make the Northbank safe standing next season and upgrade some areas of the stadium.
It seems that MA doesn’t want the squad playing elsewhere while major renovations are happening HD.
