Young players surely develop not only by playing regularly but, perhaps even more so, by being coached well, training with and learning from top quality, experienced team mates. And by having to compete for a place on the bench, never mind a starting spot. His heart is clearly with Arsenal, but his head should also be telling him to stay and fulfill his huge potential, because there is no better club for him to do this than at Arsenal.

Keep MLS at all costs; what message would it send to the academy players? Profit over quality? Frozen out regardless of your performances?
We used to make stars, not buy them, guess that is gone now. So we may sell a midfielder with huge potential who wants to be at arsenal, to raise funds to buy a striker who dreams of Barca?
If we were desperate for funds, perhaps MLS should have gotten more opportunities last year? Perhaps not spend 60 million on Zubimendi who now looks replaced by MLS, and pushed down further after Bruno.
Perhaps sell Merino, who looks to be in the Norgaard slot now. Or Zubimendi who is behind MLS and Bruno. If they do sell MLS, it would be incredibly short-sighted, especially when he has a decade or more ahead, and Bruno is in the twilight, perhaps a few productive years left.
Good luck trying to convince anyone but fools that selling MLS is in the club’s best interest.
Profit is #1 for the ownership which I suspect the players already realize they have to be a part of achieving whether it’s performing with the Arsenal or bringing it by way of transfer. Imo, with what is seemingly the potential of MLS, selling him at this time would be a poor decision.
Against the wishes of Arteta? It means derailing his plans? No way that could happen. If Skelly is sold, it must be with the consent of Arteta.
He’s one of the brightest players of the current crop that’s come through, and if true the club are willing to sell.
What a joke, the likes of Zubimendi won’t be over here forever. So letting Skelly go is just plain daft. Academy players if good enough, stop the need to buy in players. And again, I question the point of an academy if you’re going to sell the better ones that make it through to the first team.
If the owners sell Skelly over the manager’s head what do you think Arteta’s reaction will be?

Starting with the way Martinelli’s seemingly inevitable exit has been handled, we now have this media led Skelly drama unfolding!!
I’ve been studying other Arsenal sites and in every case the majority want BOTH players to stay and the criticism of how the club and Arteta are being made to look out of touch with the situation regarding both players and the fans.
It’s even got our own fans turning on other players as examples of why they should/shouldn’t be sold!!
Both players love the club, want to stay and I hope they both stay.
How much is skelly worth? I don’t want to imagine selling him but if he was in the market ManU cannot really afford him. If Ayyoub goes for 100M euros Skelly a UCL finalist should be worth at least 120M euros.
Do they really know his value or they just want to get rid of him. The amount being quoted is annoying. Are we really so desperate to sell that we are willing to sell him below his value. I doubt anyone can afford him this late in the window unless he has been their main target from the beginning.
The way he plays reminds me of wilshere.
It will be unwise to sell him cheap only to spend higher signing someone he is better than. Selling Skelly to sign Alvarez is not what we need.
We can do without another striker, what we need is a super star left winger.
