Arsenal could lose out on long term target as competition grows

Arsenal could be set to miss out on Kieran Tierney with increased interest from Italian giants Napoli, according to the Telegraph.

The 22-year-old defender has been linked with a move to the Emirates all summer but hesitation over his transfer fee from the Gunners has opened up the door for Napoli to move in and snatch the left-back from under their noses.

The Serie A runners up are set to offload their own left-back Mario Rui which creates space for Tierney as well as raising the necessary funds to table a bid for the Scottish international.

The Telegraph is not your run of the mill tabloid and does not generally go in for much gossip, so for them to highlight Napoli’s interest and call into question Arsenal’s chances of signing the Celtic star is significant.

According to the player’s agent Allan Preston, no club has yet matched Celtic’s valuation and the Hoops manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Arsenal has not tabled a second bid.

This hesitation from Arsenal is frustrating, Tierney is a highly talented individual and is worth the £25 Million that Celtic are demanding for him. It would create an immense sense of disappointment if Napoli is allowed to sneak in at the eleventh hour simply because they agreed to pay what Celtic are asking.

This coming week could be crucial in this transfer saga and there is every chance that it will come to a conclusion one way or another.

    1. Yeah the irrefutable speaker of truth has spoken and assured us all it’s a done deal so I’m not worried at all, praise the one truth in these most uncertain times 😉

  1. My line-up prediction for Arsenal’s first away game in EPL, considering injuries and player transfers:

    ……………………Leno
    …………Mustafi . Sokratis . Monreal
    Maitland-Niles . Torreira . Xhaka . Tierney
    ………………….Mkhitaryan
    ………..Aubameyang ………. Lacazette

    1. I just hope your prediction especially with Mustaphi at the back doesn’t come to fruition.

      1. Unlike our no 10s, we can still sell Mustafi or maybe trade him

But he actually has great defending stats, so perhaps another defender coach would be able to improve his performance, after Bould leaves

        1. Bould is now the U23 coach, and has been replaced by Freddie. Yesterday’s 3-3 with Boeham Wood was Bouldy’s first game in charge of the youngsters…

    2. Mustafa has changed his details on his Instagram account,he deleted arsenal player and any connections to Arsenal, what do you think that means?I don’t think he’ll be with us for much longer,?

  2. The back three suggested would rank among the worst in the Premier League.Let’s hope Emery does not share your views .

    1. That back three brought us to the fifth position and finished above Man United, Everton and Newcastle

  3. I think Arsenal will sign Tierney. Fans just don’t wanna be patient. meanwhile, I just hope someone could come in and tempt Xhaka away, am very much tired of his constant mistakes that leads to goals.

  4. Forget stats, he’s too mistake prone… and that alone can prove difference in claiming top four in the EPL where you are almost certain to get punished for making a mistake by the opposition whether big or small.

  5. …………….Leno
    Bellerin..Saliba..Sokratis..Tierney
    ……Torreira…Nkunku
    Zaha………..Fekir……..Fraser
    ………Aubameyang/Lacazette

  6. I swear I believe every club just wait n see whose Arsenal’s transfer targets are and then when we stall (which we always do) they pounce. They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result#arewecrazy??‍♂️

    1. It’s hard to disagree Gunner_268.
Arsene Wenger would always name the players he could have signed.
I’m still annoyed about Arsenal not buying Virgil Van Djik from Celtic; I hope I don’t feel the same way and Arsenal sign Kieran Tierney!

  7. Honestly lads. Im a Celtic fan and he is our jewel in the crown. im on here to be honest and let you know that the Celtic fans would tear the stadium down if he went to Arsenal for anything less than the £25-£28m being asked.we dont even want him to go but because of the service to our club if the lad wants to go then good luck to him…..but the price will need to be matched and have us enough time to replace him ( which will prob be impossible )..but i cant see him leaving..1, there is history to be made art the club in the next 2 years..9 and 10 in a row and 2. Arsenal are just all talk to sell season tickets…my honest opinion….sorry
