Arsenal debate – Are fans REALLY united in wanting Wenger out?

I am sure that all you Arsenal fans out there in cyber world have already heard about the poll of the Arsenal fans done this week by the Arsenal Supporters Trust, and if you haven’t then what have you been doing? You need to pay more attention.

Anyway, as reported by The Mirror and lots of other sources, the result of this poll was very emphatic without being completely unanimous. A massive 78 percent of the Arsenal fans polled said no the question of whether they supported the Frenchman getting ‘a new contract and remaining as Arsenal manager’. So are the Arsenal fans finally united over the managerial situation.

Some may point to the fact that the AST has only about 1000 members and so the poll is not a true reflection of the fanbase, but I also think that the fact that a poll from the same source less than two years ago returned an even greater margin wanting Wenger to stay and if the staunch Wenger fans have changed their minds what does that say about the rest of us?

So in the interest of getting a bit more clarity I thought it would be a good idea to ask you guys on here what you think. In the comments section below please give a simple yes or no to the question above and if you want to expand and give reasons feel free.

Bob.

  1. The thing is that you’ll never have consensus regarding this matter….not now, not 5 year ago…so the question is if more than 50% of fans want Wenger to leave….there’s no doubt about it!

  2. Asking for a poll on this site lol.

I sometimes think I’ve joined a website call Just Arsene Out, every article, no matter what the subject, turns into an Arsene out article.

    1. It hasn’t always been this way, there was always an Wenger out comment here or there but always shouted down pretty quickly, I think the last couple of seasons have shown how far out of touch Wenger is and also how disconnected the board are with our fan base. This has been coming for a long time.

  3. A LOT of people are united for wanting Wenger to STAY at Arsenal
United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham fans are ALL united in wanting Wenger to stay . LoL

Seriously, we have been loyal for far too long.

We may not all be united but the amount of Wenger Out fans increases and increases every season. It wont be too long until the vast majority want him out if thats not the case already

    Wenger Out

  4. Wenger Out, It’ll be a sad day when he does leave after everything he has done for the club since he’s arrival but on the flip side we won’t have to feel like Tottenham fans watching one of Christian Gross’s teams play.

  5. I want him to step down but I don’t see it happening, I’d imagine people like me aren’t too far away from asking for him to be sacked. I think in London there are many who will swing the other way once we start playing good football and look to bring in players, I think these people will never ask for a sacking unless total collapse, and these people probably vote online against him but at Emirates it is another matter.

Don’t sign the contract Arsene, take the PSG or the France job and prove your credentials all over again. Do it for yourself, not the AFC fans.

  6. The thing with the Wenger out discussion is that it’s very stupid. What are we expecting if you ask a man man who gave everything he could and more, to abandon his life’s work. You only get a divided club with confused players and spoiled fans who turn against the club. I’m not saying Wenger should stay, there are many reasons to say goodbye. What I fail to understand is why gooners aren’t addressing the real problem: the f*cking owner. In the end he decides who will be the manager, which players we spend are money on and who our chief executive is (who is an absolute nightmare for the club). Here is were it all goes wrong for Arsenal. If you want Wenger out, you should not protest against Wenger but against Ivan, Chips and Stan.
