Arsenal have issued a clear response to speculation linking them with Alexander Isak as his ongoing transfer saga intensifies. The former Real Sociedad striker has fallen out with the Newcastle United board this summer and is actively looking for a way out of the club. Reports claim he has vowed not to play for the Magpies again as the situation deteriorates.
Arsenal have long admired the Swedish international and earlier this year he was even labelled as Mikel Arteta’s dream centre forward. However, when the Gunners snapped up Viktor Gyökeres in late July, a move for Isak seemed inconceivable. The recent injury to Kai Havertz sparked renewed talk of interest, but Arsenal have since moved for Eberechi Eze instead, cooling the speculation.

Arsenal dismiss talk of move
According to Football London, speculation was widespread among senior officials at the PFA awards, on the same day Isak broke his silence with a damning statement on the issue. The report reveals Arsenal have dismissed such claims, making it clear there is “no chance” of a move being made.
Isak’s future remains uncertain, with Liverpool leading the chase for his signature. They are expected to return with an improved bid before the window closes, although they may be priced out due to Newcastle’s high demands.
Focus shifts to departures
Arsenal have already spent over £250 million this transfer window, including £67.5 million on Eze who was unveiled before the Leeds game. With incomings complete for now, the focus for Andrea Berta and the recruitment team will shift to player sales. The Gunners must finalise the departures of several fringe players to streamline the squad, ease the wage bill and ensure the club continues to operate within its means.
We don’t need Isak anyway do we Gooners?

With Gyokeres off the mark now, I don’t think so but, in any case, it’s a non-story story really.
A successful bid for Isak would very probably have taken Arsenal’s net spend this summer to around £370-380m. The current figure of £250m is really pushing it particularly without sales, the higher one would be unsustainable.
Look at the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, big spenders both, but who have both been/and are selling like there’s no tomorrow to keep overall spending within manageable limits.
Great player but too much money.
We did good at getting Gyokeres and EZE. We should get plenty of goals
But Liverpool getting Isak would be make them even harder to beat
Arsenal have signed LOI Shamrock Rovers midfielder Victor O’zhianvuna, aged 16. Due to EU law, he’s unable to join officially until he’s 18 in January 2027, and will continue playing for Rovers till then.
Info from The Athletic.
The Isak story has never had legs as far as I’m concerned. There’s no way that Arsenal would have paid £150M for him.
And I wouldn’t want them to either. If you’ve got that type of money, I think it wiser to invest in 2 or 3 areas of the team. Which is what they’ve done, so fare play.

Yes, it’s filed away with Williams and a few others.
Bertie,
Just think, if you wrote down every player that Arsenal are connected to. You’d have enough paper to shred to fill up a complete bin liner.🙄
By Isak coming in team may avoid having no striker in case Victor breaks down.
No, he’s NOT coming🤣.
