We need to give our youngsters more time by Briantole
It is not every player that begins tearing the league apart at a young age. We all hear it from every corner.
Wenger urged to get rid of this player and that player. But I feel wenger is right to give his players even more time. But the worry is there among supporters. Not everyone understands the reasons for putting support into these players.
Ozil, Cazorla, Coquelin, Ramsey, Monreal and Koscielny have all come under scrutiny at some point in their Arsenal careers but they have all rose above the crowd to prove their critics wrong. Now let me show you why we might still need to put trust into these following players.
Oxlade-Chamberlain – The English youngster has not been up to the challenge this season, much to the annoyance of supporters. Some have called for him not to be on the pitch and others clamour for him to be sold. Now Wenger has said his future lies in midfield, but for the moment he is playing as winger. His greatest strength remains his ability to take on players and I think he does it better than anybody else in the league. He is also pacy, powerful and has enough stamina. He also has some admirable defensive qualities though he can make some costly silly mistakes. He has the drive to make counter attacks, playing one-two’s with teammates and also very good at crossing the ball. He covers ground like a midfielder and makes powerful sprints. All these are enough ingredients to make him a superstar like Hazard and Sanchez; dribbling, pace and sprinting, power and covering ground are the qualities he has and will improve. Though he needs to work out on his finishing. But it comes on its own one day as wingers such as Bale and Sanchez have shown….
Jack Wilshire – We all want him to be sold because he is often injured. Like Chamberlain he is a tremendous dribbler. He also has very good ball control making him perfect to be deployed as a midfielder. Also he has sheer determination and aggression able to win battles. And on top of that he is also a creative force with good vision and awareness. All these qualities make him a versatile player capable of playing anywhere in the midfield or out on the right wing. He is a very passionate and energetic player with a powerful left foot and tremendous skill. Give him time to mature and get over his injury troubles he will become a superstar…
Calum Chambers – I am surprised that people have yet to notice the quality in this boy. Great skill, wonderful ball qualities, good defensive qualities, excellent vision and movement. He also has the drive in him to move the ball from defence to midfield to attack. Hence playing at right-back. He could have been an England regular by now were it not for his time on the bench. But I think Wenger has learnt his lessons from overplaying youngsters.
Theo Walcott – He has also got some slack off the fans in recent times for his injury troubles and lack of creativity. If you look at the numbers he is great. Scoring against almost all Premier league teams and leading in terms of Premier league goals and assists against our current crop of players. He has tremendous pace, good conversion rate and great movement. If he is able to improve these qualities with age and turn into a world beater.
Belief in players is what turns them good. Look at players like Stones, Dier, Barkley, Alli. Are they any better than them? But belief turned them better. Even Jenkinson might turn good later on. For now I judge them by their potential because they are young, but later I expect them to turn good and perform consistently at the top level when they are more used to the pressure.
