Arsenal fans love that Guendouzi nominated one of the best young players in the world.
It was announced earlier today that Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has been named in the 20 man Golden Boy shortlist.
The award was created by journalists back in 2003 at Tuttosport and has since grown to include the likes of the Times and Bild.
The award recognises players under the age of 21 that have performed to the highest level in a calendar year. Previous winners include Messi, Mbappe, Rooney, Aguero, Pogba and Pato. The only previous Arsenal winner was Cesc Fabregas back in 2006.
Arsenal fans have taken to social media in their hundreds to applaud the inclusion of the French youngster.
As a fanbase, we voted Guendouzi as our POTM for September despite the fact that Aubameyang was voted as the league’s best performer for the corresponding period. Now, it’s time to secure Mattéo the Golden Boy award. Here is a link to the vote:https://t.co/BkfOMSpy0U

Matteo Guendouzi has been included on the 20-man shortlist for the 2019 Golden Boy award, run by the Italian publication Tuttosport and awarded by European journalists to the best footballer under the age of 21 playing in Europe.

I shouldn’t tbh, I’m so critical of him at times but he’s an exceptional talent. Guendouzi will 100% captain us and become world class.

It is also quite noticeable the jealousy from certain club fans. Tottenham fans keep asking why no Winks, erm, he is over 21. United fans ask why no McTominay, again, he is over 21 plus not deserving. West Ham fans whining there is no Declan Rice, again, not been good enough for a whole year.
It would be a huge achievement for Guendouzi if he was to win the award and I for one will be voting for him.
