Arsenal fans react to Matteo Guendouzi Golden Boy nomination

Arsenal fans love that Guendouzi nominated one of the best young players in the world.

It was announced earlier today that Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has been named in the 20 man Golden Boy shortlist.

The award was created by journalists back in 2003 at Tuttosport and has since grown to include the likes of the Times and Bild.

The award recognises players under the age of 21 that have performed to the highest level in a calendar year. Previous winners include Messi, Mbappe, Rooney, Aguero, Pogba and Pato. The only previous Arsenal winner was Cesc Fabregas back in 2006.

Arsenal fans have taken to social media in their hundreds to applaud the inclusion of the French youngster.

It is also quite noticeable the jealousy from certain club fans. Tottenham fans keep asking why no Winks, erm, he is over 21. United fans ask why no McTominay, again, he is over 21 plus not deserving. West Ham fans whining there is no Declan Rice, again, not been good enough for a whole year.

It would be a huge achievement for Guendouzi if he was to win the award and I for one will be voting for him.

You can vote for Guendouzi here.

  1. He deserves it

I hope he keeps his lung-busting work rate throughout his career, like Kante

If he manages to avoid grave injuries, I believe he would succeed at Arsenal

    1. gotanidea I 100% agree with you I am beginning to think he has got 4 lungs what a buy he has turned out to be Good Luck Matteo you deserve it

  2. good buy, when he matures fully ,arsenal will sell him to barca, city,PSG or the highest bidders…..when will arsenal stop being a feeders team to other top teams….Big team kip their stars!!. Sancho might win it,I hope Matteo gets at least second

  3. Please let’s vote for him, he’s leading with 10% vote, Gee an Arsenal player let’s keep voting.

  4. I remember some fans here describing him, even this season, as a player that runs around like a headless chicken. Obviously, some fans don’t know what to look out for in a player in relation to their position. Enjoy the moments Guen, you deserve it.

  5. I love Guendouzi and he sometimes reminds me of Cesc😳. He gives 100% in every game he plays and if he carries on progressing could be a proper captain to our team. Having said that, I don’t think he’s the best player on the list so can’t vote for him just because he’s an Arsenal player.
