(by Neil) Don’t take this the wrong way but if you want Wenger out at the end of this season will you:
A. Continually berate him and the board of directors on social media in order to vent your frustrations? Or
B. Get off your backside and be part of a physical public demonstration?
The reason I ask is simple. Football fans are notorious for debating, whether that be an unfair refereeing decision, a sending off, a transfer target….its what makes being fan so addictive and social.
However, as a good friend of mine once said “Talk is cheap, money buys whisky..” ….Actions speak greater than words and so I believe our board find it uncomfortable but not unbearable or embarrassing to read the Wenger Out brigade venting their anger on social media. Will it affect them to the degree where they decide to remove him from his position? A resounding ‘no’.
As a consequence, and I have already raised this point, a physical show of unacceptable is required in order to get Wenger out. I will take an organised non aggressive or offensive protest outside the stadium of several thousand fans and covered by the media. This would most certainly make the national news.
By using this forum, Facebook and Twitter etc it’s possible to achieve this and get sufficient numbers to attend it but, and I refer back to my initial point, are any fans really that motivated to give up an afternoon of their life or is it simply too much of a commitment?
If you refer back to Jun 2016 when Britain went to the polls to vote for or against being in the EU there was a significant turn out on both sides as people cared about the future. I’m not suggesting leaving the EUROPEAN is comparable to changing our manager BUT as an Arsenal fan of 45 years it’s bloody important to me and, if you’re also a fan and disgruntled with the current situation I suggest it should be as important to you.
To close, I’m reading loads about wages of Sanchez and Ozil, will they go, who will come in…etc…thats all utter nonsense in the BiG scheme of things. Whether they stay or go makes no difference if Wenger stays. They will simply be wasting another twelve months of their lives, albeit earning substantial money.
And so, let’s not skirt around the edges, distracting ourselves on side issues. Lets do what Wenger and the board are incapable of doing and be proactive in making Wengers decision to leave ours and not theirs…
