Bradley Barcola has ended talks over a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, providing Arsenal with a potential boost in their pursuit of the attacker.
The Gunners have been tracking the Frenchman for some time and, after missing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, they are determined to beat Liverpool in the race for Barcola. Both clubs are believed to regard him as one of the standout attacking talents available during the current transfer window.
According to Metro Sport, Barcola has decided to end contract negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain after the two sides failed to reach an agreement. The report states that he has informed the club of his desire to leave.
Arsenal and Liverpool in pursuit
Liverpool view Barcola as a player capable of replacing Mohamed Salah, and many believe they are currently leading the race for his signature. Arsenal, however, remain firmly in the running and are expected to continue their efforts to persuade the Frenchman to choose the Emirates Stadium.
One of the biggest obstacles for both clubs has been Paris Saint-Germain’s reluctance to sell the attacker during this transfer window. The French champions have consistently maintained that they want him to remain at the club for at least one more season despite growing interest in his services.
Contract situation offers hope
Barcola still has two years remaining on his current contract at the Parc des Princes, and the club have spent the past year attempting to negotiate an extension. However, those discussions have now come to an end without an agreement being reached, increasing speculation over his future.
The attacker is reportedly seeking a move because he is not receiving enough playing time and finds himself behind the regular starters in the pecking order. Liverpool are expected to provide strong competition if Paris Saint-Germain eventually decide to allow him to leave. Arsenal will therefore have to battle their Premier League rivals if they hope to secure the signing of one of their leading transfer targets before the window closes.

I saw that report about him ending contract talks with PSG. Didn’t read that he asked to leave though.
But I think we now have a chance if we go for him although I read that he wants Liverpool.
Could be another of those over hyped players who would end up flipping in the premier league.
PSG pulled out of talks for Diomande cos of finances and now Barcola. It seems Mbappe has taught them a lesson. They’re becoming financially reasonable now and have started to think with their heads and not with their pockets
…flopping in the premier league. Stupid keyboard typo
And it seems PSG wants £140m for him.
This world has gone crazy
I would take him over vini jr personally.
I tend to agree Dan, I just feel that Vini could stir up the dressing room a bit.
Barcola does seem to be a more “Arteta” team player kind of signing.
With that said I wouldn’t at all be upset if we signed Vini, Arteta would just need to manage his ego that comes with being a superstar.
U are actually right
Me too – he’s around about as good a player but without the baggage from what I can tell.
Careful what you say cos Dan Smith would soon come after you with the “Vinicius is a winner” stuff.
But I’m really curious to know why you would prefer Barcola. You seem to me like someone who would want Vini instead
and I’ll be reminding you if we have Martinelli or even Maduake on the left and they are not doing better numbers
I’ll be happy with Barcola and it’s more realistic
needs to work on end product though
You almost forgot Tzolis.
Moreover, we could get other left wingers who aren’t as bloody expensive as Vinicius big still very good
Yeah didn’t want to mention him because before he plays would be unfair to judge
We can make that comparison with Martinelli and Maduake though
Trust me though , V Junior Is another level
I would take either one but Barcola 3 years younger ,seems more of a fit for us .
Only worry is forward players seem not to be able to express themselves under this management, all to forced and robotic, yes we won the Prem last season but geez it was a painful watch .
Sounds like he may be off to Liverpool but I also prefer him to the other options.
It would really be a statement signing…vinicious is one of the best in his position but too damn expensive which is going to cause older gunners for increase in wages since they there did there job and also looking forward to remain in there current positions with an increase
