Arsenal handed BIG boost for the BIG match

Arsenal are continuing to look in imperious form, after the brilliant performance and win away to Hull City made it 25 wins from our last 31 games in all competitions. But Arsene Wenger knows that the Gunners cannot afford to start thinking that the job is done as there are still some very important games for us to win.

You could say that the really big one is the final game of the season against Aston Villa at Wembley, as it gives Arsenal the chance of a trophy and also to become the most successful club ever in the history of the FA cup. That is not the big game I am talking about though, because I think the trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League will be the key to Arsenal finishing above Louis van Gaal´s team.

We want second place of course but as long as we finish higher than fourth we should be happy, not just because it shows an improvement on recent seasons but because it could make all the difference to the chances of Arsenal winning the BPL title next year. Avoiding those two tense and energy sapping play off games will hopefully help Arsenal to start the season well and give us the platform to launch a proper challenge.

So the news reported by the Daily Mail that Danny Welbeck, who missed the game on Monday with inflammation of his knee, will be fit and available to face his former club is a massive boost for Wenger. Welbeck may have been a fringe player recently but just like in the FA cup, I expect the boss to start him at Old Trafford, especially after the striker played so well there and scored the vital winning goal.

And you can be sure that Welbeck will be desperate to show his manager that he should be starting the final at Wembley as well, but will he be able to do that and if so, who would miss out?
