‘Arsenal have no funds for big signings’???

Arsenal are claimed to have made no funds available for a big name signing today, despite the expected sales which are ongoing.

A number of Gunners are linked with the exit door today, with Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson, Jack Wilshere, Lucas Perez, Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calum Chambers and Theo Walcott all possible departures

Kieran Gibbs left the club in a reported £7 Million move to West Bromwich Albion yesterday, and the Ox is closing on a supposed £40 Million move to Liverpool, having partaken in a medical last night apparently.

Despite any moves away from the club, BBC journalist David Ornstein claims that there will is no money available for any big signings, despite the income from Chamberlain’s imminent sale.

Ornstein said: “Arsenal’s squad was particularly heavy only a few weeks ago – 35 [players] strong.

“The outlay on Alexandre Lacazette eats into an enormous amount of their overall transfer budget – adding the Kolasinac salary into that as well.

“There is no money available for anymore major signings.”

I struggle to believe that our club has NEEDED to make a profit from the transfer window, and refuse to accept that we would have blown our whole budget on only ONE player, with Sead Kolasinac having moved on a free transfer, and Lacazette being our club record £52 Million signing.

Our club is not a poor one, but does appear to be poorly run when you compare us to our rivals at the top of the table. Even Tottenham have moved to bring in more players than us this summer, despite a temporary move to Wembley Stadium for the campaign and having to pay off the refurbishments on their stadium.

We finished fifth last season, our lowest finish in the Arsene Wenger era, and that should have given us the kick up the jacksy to actually go all-out in the current transfer window, but our club just appears to be allowing us to fall further behind our rivals, and if two losses from three in the Premier League already is not warning enough, then this is going to be a horrific year…

Will Arsenal ease our worries with some big signings? Will the club pull off a major coup? Has our contract situation hampered our transfer dealings?

    1. All Draxler and Mahrez reports are untrue.Unlikely for any of them to sign.
JUST IN:Sergio Aguero is now open to the idea of joining Arsenal in the £72m + swap deal.Up to Man City now.If this bid comes in then it’s done.

      1. Mahrez to Chelsea is almost done.He chose Chelsea over Spurs.
Arsenal also pull out of Jadon Sancho deal allowing him to go to Dortmund after rejecting Utd and Spurs.

      2. seriously a 31yo Aguero??

Ageing and lack of pace soon

We will be calling for a new signing soon

        1. He’s just turned 29 so a good 2 years in the legs. Injury issues would be a problem but still an exceptional player… won’t happen

  1. No money? That statement upset fans beyond reason. No way it can be possible after tv revenue deal.
So mid table teams are outspending us now?
So we can’t afford a bidding war with West Brom and Swansea as they buy themselves a title?
Self sustaining business model they talk about is broken son if cant afford players and you have MADE PROFIT this window!

    1. Perhaps don’t offer average manager £10.5 million a year then.
No money? But somehow scrape up enough change to stupidly offer ox £180,000 a week?
Sorry none of this passes the smell test

    2. l feel your pain mate but let’s be honest here. lf you really want to contest for top honour in EPL you have to rely on more than increased TV deal. Take away TV money from 200m plus Manchester city and united have spent so far and see what remains. We need owner that will be ready to put his own money into the club not a leech that is Kroneke.

  2. Well if Arsenal has money to spend, Wenger would have had Lemar

Those days Dein, the vice chairman seal the deals and convince the board

these days the CEO Gazadis close the bank account and convince the fans

  3. Just spoke to my sources …

That’s what it’s come to…I now have full blown conversations with Heinz ketchup

      1. Wenger doesn’t buy ketchup. He walks up and down the isle hoping the price goes down only to find that a few minutes later, someone else bought up all the ketchup. Then he buys some tomato plants hoping to grow tomatoes and make his own ketchup in 10 years, but the tomatoes never mature.

  4. Still got enough to pay
    Arsene his 8mill and keep
    financing $tan’s billion dollar
    stadium build.
Besides this is all lowering fans expectation
so when a big signing is made the fans
will say how wonderful the transfer window has been.

  5. Absolute joke with the sale of ox and Gibbs we have made money gazidis wenger lied to are faces again we have some extremely wealthy men at are club and Stan is on about spending 3 billion on the rams for a new ground if any one still backs these muppets it’s time for u to get out of are club with them if it means I have to take a banner every week to get these idiots out that’s what I’ll do bring back David dean please

  6. very sad state of club … but predictable outcome when you combine arrogant French technocratic with rent seeking corporate yank .. don’t want to say I told you so … WTF .. I FFING TOLD YOU SO!!!!

  7. No money.
    Spend:
    Lacazette £52 million
    Kolasinic – free

    Sales
    Szcezney £13 million
    Ox – £40 million
    Gabriel – £10
    Gibbs – £7

Total out £52 million And nearly £70 million in. Plus another £60 -£70 million for Sanchez soon. There’s money to spend if they chose to.

    1. additionally arsenals investment approach is considered to be very conservative.
Just comparing ManU borrowings(~650m) to Arsenal’s(~230m, completely comes from the stadium) you see how afraid of investing in the club the Directors are especially considering how valuable the football clubs have became these days.

  8. If Arsene loves Arsenal as much as he says he does then why doesn’t he part with some of his 8m annual salary and go and buy the players we’re clearly crying out for! No money – don’t make me laugh!!!!

  9. The club that is apparently being run better than any other has the worst salary structure. The below par players have blown our payroll through the roof and that is all because of one man. Do us all a favour Arsene and just leave.

  10. kroenke and Wenger are working hand in hand to drag the club to the midtable mediocrity.
That was kroenke’s plan all along. To have a safe, Stoke-like semi-feeder mid-table club that always makes a profit without any risky purchases.

      1. Even if Wenger wasn’t being given any funds, that doesn’t excuse his lack of leadership and motivation for the team, plus the poor tactics and player positioning every single week… They ALL must go!

  11. This statement is ridiculous, mid table teams are spending, while arsenal saying no money. I am feeling ashamed right now bcos of d statement

    1. Mid table teams are spending what keeps them in mid table. Even Everton can’t buy a 50m plus a player yet we they are competing with us. If we want to be contender we spend what contenders are spending not mid table teams.

  12. Wenger did not attend the UEFA forum….

    too busy closing deals?

What do you need Gazadis and Dick Law for?

Those days Dein would have closed the deal….only in rare special circumstances situation Wenger is required to be there to close deals

  13. leciter, stoke, west brom and west ham have more ambition than us. not to mention everton. how the hell can they all spend and we can’t? for year they told us we need to sell players for the new stadium, so we can compete with the top teams. we payed back for the stadium and same old sheet.
kronke out, gladiz out, wenger out. we have all that it takes to be a top team- big stadium, money, decent squad to build on, good enough reputation to attract good players – but they chose to make us mediocre. you can’t forgive something like that!

    1. Are you being sarcastic or what. When was the last time you heard their managers saying they can win fa cup, league cup or qualifying el or cl not to mention EPL. Leicester winning the league was a one time thing. It is more like arsenal dropping to their level rather than they catching up. Well if they have that ambition, then they are suffering from the same lunacy and delusion Wenger is suffering from when he thinks he can win the league after spending a quarter of what man city has spent so far.

  14. This is d first time we r told there is no money , Wenger has been covering the lies over n over that he was giving money n he returned d money

  15. Everton is not a poor man’s club anymore, something is definitely wrong between Arsene and the board, that is the matter i think needs serious investigation.

  16. Why dont the all the Arsenal Fan bases in London unite to put pressure on the club board, the owners and thw coach.. Are they still feeling no pain,? Fans are cheated time and again, year after years..
