Arsenal have the greatest secret weapon at this stage of the Europa League

The one huge advantage Arsenal have in the Europa League

The final four teams in the Europa League all have solid chances of lifting the trophy in Baku on Wednesday 29th May but we have one huge advantage over our rivals and that is none other than our manager Unai Emery.

That man is a phenomenon in this competition he has won it no less than three times and has now won 26 matches knockout stages, more than any other manager.

And remember, those three wins were all won consecutively.

Emery just knows how to manipulate the competition, he knows what is required to win and at no stage have we looked vulnerable, well, apart from the Rennes tie.

He knows Valencia very well, he managed them for three seasons taking them to 6th 3rd and 3rd in La Liga and that despite the club being in the midst of the worst financial crisis in their history.

We could not ask for a better manager when it comes to facing Valencia and Los Che will know that as well.

Emery’s experience in both the Europa League and of managing Valencia will be invaluable, and you can take it to the bank that he will use his entire knowledge of our semi-final opponents to full advantage and that will give us a significant edge.

Emery has come in for some criticism this season but he has the best Arsenal record of any manager in their first 50 games in charge with a 64% win record, he has got us to the semi’s of the Europa League and top-four so far in the Premier League and all this while being restricted financially in the transfer market.

Yes, any of the last four in the Europa League can win it, that goes without saying but none of them has a weapon as potent as Unai Emery and as a fanatical Gooner I cannot be any more pleased.

    1. Let’s hope our fanbase treats our current most successful europa cup winning manager with the respect that a few fans forgot to give our previous most successful fa cup winning manager.

The “secret weapon” is not the fact that he’s won this trophy more than any other manager…it’s the fact that he is UE and that’s what this season is all about for me.

Spot on with the conclusion, but not the reasoning in my opinion.

      1. I will just add that EVERY SINGLE Arsenal manager that I have known, has been restricted in the transfer market, not just UE.
Let’s just keep everything in perspective here.
As a fellow fanatical gooner, I couldn’t be more pleased with UE’s achievements to date, but let’s be realistic in our observations and judgements.

        1. Agree ,Ken, about Wenger BUT we have to back our current manager with money or he will end up like the previous one.

  1. I have no doubt Emery would guide Arsenal to go to the EL final, but let’s focus on the three EPL games first

Crystal Palace should be a breeze since Arsenal will play at the Emirates, but Wolves would be tough because they have tricky players like Adama Traore

I wish we have a towering striker that can unlock the opposition’s defense with headers

  2. Emery’s record in Europe league is to be envied. I hope we can had to his trophies. It is not going to be easy because Chelsea are still the strongest at least on paper, I hope they don’t make the final.

  3. I’ve heard Eintracht Frankfurt are going to bring more fans to the new Tottenham stadium than Nuremberg brought to the Emirates. I feel sorry for our feeble Police Force. They couldn’t handle the 20,000 Nuremberg fans that came to the Emirates and resorted to pacifying them in an attempt to gain order, so how are they going to be able to control 25,000 Eintracht fans. So far this week with the demonstrations I’ve seen them dancing with protesters from Extinction Rebellion and would you believe it, looking like complete idiots having a go on their skate boards. This is our once proud Police Force to scared instill a bit of law and order. They are the laughing stock of Europe, almost every one of my customers I’ve spoken to tonight have made fun of them. All I can say is, their lucky it’s not 25,000 Russians.

    1. KENNY Our police have not been behaving as coppers should do and used to do a long time ago, for years now. They are snowflakes and just want no trouble. Blow keeping the peace, thay care only about themselves , though there are a number of exceptions. But , generally speaking……..! Sigh! I actually THOUGHT I SAW three police walking down our main road but on close inspection it turned out to be , Elvis, The Loch Ness Monster and Lord Lucan. FAR MORE LIKELY TO SEE THEM THAN A COPPER THESE DAYS; AT LEAST ON FOOT.

      1. Absolutely right jon, Keystone cops. I was at a cab demo against Uber a few weeks ago, They dragged a cab driver out of his cab, knee in his back, arm round his neck, smashed him on the floor, cut all his face and handcuffed him, all because he never moved his cab quick enough. Now compare that to the couple on top of the DLR train at Canary Wharf. Police were asking the demonstrators if the chinstrap on the helmuts the Police provided was too tight after pleading with to come down. Disgraceful, no wonder there’s no law and order anymore.

        1. Cressida Dick should resign after this fiasco for her failure to instill law and order however they’ll just slap her on the back and tell her what a good job she’s doing.

  4. Emery is the reason I am confident about this tournament as well. We can go all the way with him, glad he is getting praise.
