Arsenal have the right midfield if Unai Emery is adventurous

The Arsenal front line is rock solid, in fact, it is world-class, the defence is weak but has potential when the injured players return but the midfield is all over the place.

The thing is this, on paper Arsenal have a great midfield if Unai Emery is prepared to pick a certain three players together across the middle.

Dani Ceballos, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira have the capabilities to resolve the lingering issues that are exposed on an almost weekly basis.

There is no link-up play between the front line and the midfield, Ceballos has the vision and creativity to solve that problem immediately.

The midfield does not help out enough at the back, both Guendouzi and Torreira can do that job, especially the Uruguayan as a holding defensive midfielder.

The only problem I see with putting Ceballos in the middle of the park is that Mesut Ozil would have to play behind the front three but in all honesty, I do not see a huge problem with that.

There was always too much focus on Ozil to be both a provider and to trackback, well, he would not have to shoulder that burden with Ceballos behind him.

Sharing the responsibility of servicing the front three would suit Ozil’s game significantly and I am convinced that if Emery plays Ceballos and Ozil together that it would work very effectively.

Then once Kieran Tierney, Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin are back for the defence we will be very close to having a top quality competitive side.

All it needs is for Emery to show some adventurism.
