Arsenal face a tricky trio of League games starting tonight at Anfield, and the outcome of these tests could prove decisive in proving Arsenal’s credentials as title contenders, according to the ex-Arsenal star Paul Merson.
With Liverpool having so many injuries perhaps tonights game could be the easiest of the three, and Merson thinks all three points is crucial to the Gunners, although he expects Klopp’s weakened side to raise their game for this. “If this was Liverpool v Crystal Palace, then I would say I might fancy Palace,” Merson predicted. “But you know Liverpool will be running round like you have never seen before. You look at the way they have played recently and you can bet they won’t be anything like that against Arsenal.
“That’s what you’re up against when you are at a top team like Arsenal; other teams lift their game against you. I am sure Liverpool will raise their game but they are struggling to put a team out with all the injuries and I think Arsenal have to win these kind of matches if they are going to win the Premier League. I don’t think Liverpool have got enough players at the moment and Arsenal need to win before facing Stoke and Chelsea.”
Liverpool have been inconsistent so far under Klopp, but they have had some great wins against some top sides. Merson is predicting a 2-1 win to Arsenal, but would a draw be such a bad result at Anfield?

I don’t expect our game @ Anfield to be a walk in the park even if they have some key players out. We also have some players out as well. I wonder how both teams will approach the game… Hopefully, we will get the win.

Once past this three game run the rest of our

City tho has an easier ECL last 16 tie
and are still in the Capital cup so
should play at least 5 more games than Arsenal.
Me thinks the EPL title is on it’s way to the Emirates

arsenal have to beat liverpool to win the title,next arsenal have to beat stoke to win the title blah blah blah……
its just another way of saying “take it one game at a time”, which isn’t bad at all. if our players can treat every game as one which will win us the league, we will perform at a higher level and just might wrap it up with games to spare. I miss those days.
