Arsenal delivered a statement performance at the Emirates Stadium with a resounding 5-0 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League this evening. Nwaneri could replace Odegard if Eze is not ready. We now have options/alternatives for the no.10 role. It’s not like Odegard is at his best, he been poor.

@Gai from what I saw of Madueke when he switched to the RW I am confident his pace and physicality will worry Robertson. But let’s hope Saka’s injury is not serious though his facial expression after leaving the pitch says it all.

Shame about the injuries but, hopefully, neither will prove too serious.
I was particularly glad that Gyokeres scored from open play as well as the penalty. That should relieve a little of the inevitable pressure on him. Also good that Dowman got a run out and certainly wasn’t a shrinking violet on the pitch.
Yes you could field the relief offf Gyokers shoulders when he dances his way and score.
But two goals in two game is a good return, it also suggests he has picked up where he has left off in the Portuguese championship
Not mention another clean sheet (thanks to a fine stop by Raya, he wasn’t bothered much at all this game). That 1 goal difference puts us top of the league for now!
The real test for this team is the bin dippers game go and get a result there when the pressure is on and will feel a bit more confident of our chances to win prem league big concern another 2 injuries keeps happening but at least this time have a bit more depth and quality to call on might need to get in another 2 yet depending on extent of the injuries to odegaard and saka

I am really happy Gyokeres has opened his account! 007 cancelled for him and no more pressure. Now focus is on Madueke who did really well today and even better on the right wing. Max Dowman was looking really energetic and aggressive but I think he dived for the penalty. Anyway, we got the result and the weekend is made.
I also felt that Madueke was impressive and it was a great goal from Gyokeres with a very good start in proving his value. The defender stepped hard on the toes of one of Dowman’s feet and that’s why he went down the way he did even though the minimal to nonexistent other body contact made it look like a dive.
No he didn’t dive. Watch the replay well and you will notice that the defender stepped on him. Even though one of the suspect refs was on VAR, they had no option but to uphold the call.

Brilliant Timber, madueke, dowman, nwaneri, gyokeres.. odegard was brilliant too togeda with saka before they got injured. Rice, zubi and the entire backline were super solid. This is the dream team we are talking about and not to mention masterful eze.

I am so flipping drunk, but apart from the injuries, that was perfect. But even those open door for Maddy and Eze in their natural positions.
In comparison Take Salah and Wirzul out of Liverpool team for 4 months and they are relegation favourites. Us it’s not even a problem, just opportunity.
Win at Anfield next and it could be six point gap and the title already won, as Manc and Pool in transition seasons.
Both Odegaard and Saka went off injured in the same match and the level only slightly dropped with their replacement. That’s how good depth feels like. Odegaard’s injury could be a bruised shoulder or precautionary substitution to avoid further contact but Saka’s was the hamstring could be bad unless we got lucky and it’s just a pull and no tear.
Arteta took no chances with either which is another bonus and we had 5 subs after 64min which is good.
Arteta 10/10. Next comes Eze!
I hope ode and saka will be available next weekend. But i do find our game more exciting to watch after Ode was subbed. Nwaneri was fearless and he was willing to try in tight spaces.

Comprehensive victory
I was impatient to begin with. Lively start morphed into the slow stuff. However, the second goal was so important imo. A belter from Saka and one that didn’t involve Jover.
As has been mentioned, there is cover now and perhaps the best time to blood the new and the youngest is against a team that had been well beaten
Dowman was extremely impressive again but I have to say it looked a dive for the penalty. I’ve gotten the impression from his pre season games he does look for for any excuse in the box. It worked out this time but he will quickly get a reputation if not careful, which wouldn’t be helpful.
Mahrez used to do that dribble a lot and win lots of free kick and penalties. At that speed and leg positioning a small trip or touch can make u fall. Dowman will be fine.
True Ackshay. If you look at the replay closely, you’ll see where the toes of one of his feet were stepped on. He fell hard for the amount of contact other than on his toes but it wasn’t a dive.
People really shouldn’t be making this kind of comment without seeing the replays.
In real time it may have been difficult to be sure but that’s why we have the VAR. The replays quite clearly show that Dowman’s toes were stepped on and he was tripped.
I did see the replay – it goes back to that “any kind of contact is a foul” debate. Trying to be objective, it’s quite obvious he was on his way looking for it and went down at the slightest touch, probably more anticipating the contact, but definitely not because of it. Imo that’s a dive and we wouldn’t be happy had an opposition player done that to us. I don’t want to crucify the kid, obviously, I just think he’s going to get serious criticism if he keeps doing that as he gets older.

Reggie, back in the days when I played, the boots were a lot thicker then they are now, and if an opponent stood on your foot it hurt. Nowadays the boots are so thin, more like slippers, and it’s going to hurt a lot more when contact is made.

I’m afraid, I don’t agree with any of what you have written. I don’t consider what happened a dive, I wouldn’t be claiming that an opponent had done something to us if a penalty was given against Arsenal in similar circumstances.
Diver or not, we’re going to get more penalty calls this season if Dowman plays regularly. Not had that since Limpar, but didn’t have VAR back then.

A good confidence boosting win and a brace fro Gyokores. Was it coincidence that within 10 minutes of Odergaard going off we scored in open play and again, straight after the break with Gyokores (although he had to do ut himself) and good to see the kids on getting good pitch time.
Good win and many positives.
The only negatives were the injuries to our star boy Saka and captain Odegaard.

I don’t get why we get so many injuries. Yes at times Leeds would’ve fitted in better at a rugby match, but they had no injuries. 3 potentially bad injuries in just two games is ridiculous. Max Dowman is phenomenal, never seen anything like it, and the speed he moves at. I know he has to be treated carefully and expectations tempered, but he could be the best in the world if he keeps his head and carries on at his current rate.
It’s an ongoing problem among the best clubs in the league. Playing much more games than average players, in addition they also play international games. Players playing FIFAS club World Cup will probably have fatigue issues during all the season. Our best players are playing fare too many games during a season and it will get worse, to double their wages doesn’t help, it’s about their total work load which aren’t healthy at all.
But we have only just started this season??? That doesn’t make sense?
How many other teams have more than one injury?
Man.City has four or five, just check yourself there are lots of injuries in the league already. This isn’t an Arsenal problem but a general problem among the best EPL clubs

Yes the injuries are concerning, but to be fair, both the Havertz & Ødegaard injuries were the results of fouls. Saka’s though is to his left hamstring. Is that the same one as last time? Is Ben White’s a recurrence?
There must be something at Arsenal causing this injury issue even more so considering players who were hardly injured become injury prone when signing for Arsenal.
Maybe they should seek Granit’s advice.
What about Man.City or Liverpool? Liverpool had lots of injuries during the last Klopp seasons. Chelsea had lots of injuries on their star players last season, inclusive Cole Palmer.

Impressive win , and the speed of play was much improved. Could still be much quicker in realising that through ball to Gyo, he made some good runs a few times and the pass was not forthcoming. Maybe we will get to see it at Our next game.

Great performance all round 👏 only downside was Odegaard and Saka getting injured along with Havertz a few days ago, bringing Eze in looks like a masterstroke now.
Well that’s more like it, a win backed up with a better performance. Good to see Gyokeres get off the mark with a double. Timber was pulling up the tree’s😂 with his two goals as well. Saka’s sweet strike wasn’t to shabby either.
Hopefully the two injury’s are not long term. But at least the club look like they can cope better now with the added additions.
A better overall performance by the team. I would hope though that in the coming weeks, that there will be more crosses in the box once they start gelling with Gyokeres more. As he’s our out and out striker, he thrives on crosses. Give him the service, and hopefully this won’t be the last brace that he scores.
And just a few words on Max Dowman, while the club need to handle him in the right way, his confidence at 15 and the way he’s so positive every time he gets the ball. WOW!.
Although I do think the Leeds player that stood on his toe for the penalty, should be charged with assaulting a minor. 🤣😂👍
I’m very pleased with everything the club management has done so this season. The only problem is that we must sell some players and I believe we will manage that. I’m pleased with the ManU and Liverpool games, because we will measure our standard very early this season. May the good Lord and the Almighty bless the club and all the Arsenal fans around the world
