Arsenal in battle with Tottenham for Italian international signature

It is being reported in Italy that Arsenal and Tottenham are going head to head in the battle to sign Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Pellegrini has been in high demand ever since Roma failed to qualify for next seasons Champions League and according to Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira, both AC Milan and Inter Milan are reportedly very keen on signing the 22-year-old, however, Roma do not want to sell to a rival and that gives both Tottenham and us a significant advantage.

In fact, Schira claims that both ourselves and Spurs have already tabled offers with Pellegrini’s agent.

“The Roma works on the renewal of Lorenzo Pellegrini: objective to remove the 30 million clause (payable in 2 tranches of 15) on the plate also the role of vice-captain,” Schira wrote on Twitter.

“Meanwhile, his agent – after calls from Inter and Milan – received proposals from Arsenal and Tottenham.”

Well, either Schira is lying or we have actually put forward a proposal and I am inclined to believe him, it would be too risky for his reputation to just lie like that.

Of course, he may have been misled and not intentionally be telling an untruth but he will have done his due diligence before going public with such a bold statement.

I do not know too much about the player but having watched a couple of videos of him he does look tasty.

It will be interesting to see if this particular piece of speculation gains traction over the next few days.

The fee is not outrageous, especially if it can be paid in two tranches of 15 Million Euro’s, though lack of Champions League football could be a huge obstacle.

  1. Tall, young and has lousy attacking stats. Maybe he is good defensively, but we don’t need more defensive midfielder since we already have Chambers, Guendouzi, Elneny and Torreira

We already have similar player in Xhaka, hence I hope Arsenal make better assessments before chasing him. The last thing we need is another slow thinking midfielder that cannot make through balls consistently

  2. Ot: Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson will miss the start of the 2019/2020 season after suffering a suspected hamstring injury. If we can get them to sign Kola for around 25m euros then we can re invest that money in Tiereny from Celtic.

  3. They did just fine by not signing any players last season. Why do they wanna sign any now and therefore be in battle with us for a signature? Scůms!

  4. You`re like a well oiled machine, Admin Martin, pumping out post after post !……………think I`ll send around UKAD to drug test you ! 😆

    1. This was just my second all day long Le Coq Monster, at this rate, I will get fired for underperformance, in fact, Ozil puts in more effort, I rarely post up more than six in a 24 hour period.

  5. Admin is just trying to keep us excited with post after post, at least you are making our day with this non ending transfer rumors, just like reading anyway to keep me busy.

  6. Like I say Benex this was just my second article of the day but hold your horses I will be publishing one that has annoyed me in the next ten minutes.

  7. I would love to get pellegrini he’s a great player and would help shore up our midfield with a tall strong creative box to box
Sell the hair cut elneny and retain xhaka chambers torria guendozi then buy zychech for am position.
Then as wellbeck has left im happy the links for hard working quick skillfull young forwards were going for ,, Martinelli ect
If we get peressic on the left wing with iwobi as back up and nelson and saka on the righti think that could work well ,maybe buy another
Young up and coming winger aswell as there’s an abundance at the moment
Then get three strong players across the back in bring in our youngsters get a couple of good not so well know fullbacks firpo and Reece James ect
We need to spend well on just a few decent hardworking players that can’t fit in and get the players around them upping there game
    We don’t need an overhaul..
We also need be looking at the good named players youngsters that can maybe grow more or after a year or 2 sell for a decent proffet that’s how the scousser get the full team in seeking a load of players for decent dosh
